In all seriousness, no. Pets would sort of ruin the game in ways that I can't think of right now. :/ Not to mention I rarely find pet threads that don't contain hate at all.
When I was a noob, I made a thread about pets too. Surprisingly, it only got one -1 comment out of about 50, and the rest were nuetral/+1. But even with the semi-positive feedback, I realized that pets would upset the game, not to mention I was scared to continue the thread once I saw some other poor pet thread burned down by flame wars.
So... Hide this thread unless you want some fiery rage. :/
