My suggestion is to not

My suggestion is to not bother wearing a fire resistance trinket and to invest in an ASI trinket. Increased ASI will increase your longevity leaps and bounds more than a fire resistance trinket will.

Blitz needle is better to take out TROJANS. Its purpose cannot be generalized to the entire Fiend family, as using a blitz needle in the midsts of Devilites or greavers will surely get you eaten alive. I would say Callahan deals with the rest of the fiend family rather nicely.

One of the two weapons that you should heavily consider investing on if you want parties to keep you are Blitz needle and shivermist. If you have neither of the two most parties will ask you to leave, the reason for this is that its a trend to use these two weapons to make the Vanaduke fight both easier and shorter.

As for shields I recommend Grey Owlite shield or skelly shield for first-timers. Grey Owlite shield does not defend well against the actual slags in FSC, or the trojans. But Vanaduke mostly deals elemental and normal damage, and it's up to you to decide whether you want a shield good for FSC or the vanaduke fight. I would lean with the Owlite shield.
When you do enter parties of FSC you may notice that some sport quickswift bucklers and snarborous thorn shields because they've learned the attack patterns of the slags and trojans from within FSC well enough to not worry about blocking attacks from them so much. While having optimal defenses does work, once you learn the attack pattern of your enemies they will be less and less important to you.

So..

1. Get shivermist or blitz needle
2. Replace that fire resistance trinket with an ASI trinket, I think this is especially important since you'll be weilding a DA.
3. If you want get Grey Owlite shield or skelly shield, study the mobs, wear whatever you want once you get good at it.

Overall your loadout is pretty good for tackling FSC and you shouldn't worry so much about it.
EDIT: Noticed you already have blitz needle so nevermind that. >.>

Don't use the armor of the

Don't use the armor of the fallen alone in FSC. You should get a divine hood + armor of the fallen as the divine hood will make up for the less damage against fiends and the curse weakness that the armor of the fallen possesses.

Here is my take on you

Here is my take on you loadout, piece by piece :

- Crown of the fallen is good, some ASI, shadow protection and fire protection : all that is good. The fiend penalty is not that much of an issue because Trojans die easily once you are used to them anyway (if you are in a party, mates will help you. Alone, even with the penalty, I guess the Blitz will one charge kill them)

- Dread Skelly Suit is somewhat lacking for FSC : no offensive bonus, 2 irrelevants status protection. I wouldn't advise it.

- Grey Feather is OK, but outclassed by Vog Cub or Volcanic Demo, which have the mostly the same stat, but an offensive bonus instead of shock resists. The only shock source in FSC is trojans when you stay close to them when they do their buff animation, which is not worth gearing against.

- Your weapons are good, just be careful with your teammates when using Polaris. As for Freeze Alchemer vs Shiver, I would go for Shiver just for Vanaduke : the freeze alchemer can't reliably perma-freeze Vanaduke, and if you want an elemental gun for the rest of FSC, you should replace Polaris.

- As for shields, there are defensive or offensive shields. Defensive shields are either Volcanic Plate Shield or Grey Owlite Shield (I wouldn't advise Dread Skelly there, a fire resistance helps a lot on the shield, especially for Vanaduke himself), I would advise toward Grey Owlite Shield because I prefer specialized shields. Offensive shields are BTS (for swordsmen) and Swiftstrike (more for gunner, because sworsmen already have a lot of ASI with Vog, generally).

- For trinkets, don't get defensive trinkets for PvE. It's a waste of trinket slots. Get offensive trinkets instead, according to your most used weapons (you didn't mention it, you could be both a swordsman due to DA or a gunner due to BN + Polaris).

- As a general rule, Callahan is the safest way to deal with fiends and beasts, but Blitz Needle is king for FSC, because it destroys Trojans and Vanaduke (and also zombies if you want to use it against them). Blitz Needle can be used against fiends and beasts, but it's harder to master.

So what I am understanding is

Helmet:Crown of The Fallen
Armor:Vog Coat
Weapons:Blitz, Divine Avenger, Shivermist, and Polaris (Or Freeze Alchemer if In a party)
Trinket: ASI Trinket, and Penta-Heart
Shield:Grey Owlite

Almost. Unless the reason for

Almost. Unless the reason for the Penta-Heart is that you already have it, you should switch it out for an offensive trinket (for example, gun damage bonus). Hearts trinkets are basically worthless in PvE, since they add very little compared to your health pool once you have a pod and you shouldn't get hit too much anyway (if you do, you have a problem in the way you play).
