You dont really need one you know. And without any ctr UV or bomber gear, i woudlnt bother in getting one.

Also tehre are various types of bombs that fulffill different roles, it alldepends on the situation and personal taste.

in your case, to make a t3 deathless solo run, you should pick a t3 beast or slime stratum gate (preferably without FSC later)

One of my favorite bombs is the VT because it somewhat locks the enemy, interrupts attacks and the status deals descent damage.

I'm totally +1 to Skold-The-Drac. I'm all for pure bombing.

But you want a hybrid? First, whatever bomb you get, consider paying the good money it will cost to get a CTR UV. Charge time on a bomb makes a HUGE difference. But if you can't affor that now, you can roll it later. Check the AH for 2* freeze bombs and see what the costs are like for UV's.

Second, for solo? I agree with Akvar. I'd say either Shivermist or Voltaic Tempest. If you're only doing one bomb, I wouldn't recommend Electron Vortex right away. The vortex bombs are great, but tricky! And if you have no CTR boost, even trickier. So I'd save that for later. Shiver, you're right, freezing down the whole area really does allow a lot of strategy. But the VT does do crowd control as well. It doesn't totally lock things in place, but things that move fast do shut down (kats don't glide as well, zombie leaps stall, jelly tackles stall), and it also does damage. So consider that one too.
