I was thinking... What if we chose an option before the match, thats based on what you do in ld. If you're better at caps, choose capture-man. If you're better at damage, choose hit-man. This will then change the team up options and who you get paired with.

(on mobile, will elaborate when i return home)

What does this do

If the opposing team can see who is best at something they can have who they have that is best at countering them camp that particular player. If only the team can see the organization than it would lose what little team orientation Lockdown has. Learn about people, not glue a class/label on them.

On an unrelated note, I personally would prefer more player versus enemy content than more Lockdown shenanigans; or another minigame which requires teamwork rather than suggesting shyly. Make people learn about teamwork. Make people learn problem solving skills. My belches smell like iguanas.

The opposing team wouldn't be

The opposing team wouldn't be able to see. This would be a second stage after signing up, and before it assigns. After the right amount of cap and damage players enter the que, it will assign an even number of cap players, and an even number of damage players on each team.

I see what you did there

I see what you mean; prevent everyone from going on offense, keep the teams somewhat balanced. What they could do is set a cache for selecting classes before the matches start, though some will camp the same class ceaselessly; after a certain amount of consecutive rounds they would be barred from that class for the next round(s). To further force variation they could apply the same to weapons to prevent everyone from having the generic loadout combinations. For example, only two people on the same time can use the same weapon at the same star rank; as long is it is not over the limit of the individual item. There can be two people with Final Flourish and a third person with Grand Flourish, but no more than the limit (two in this case, per team) of the same weapon.

Hopefully this would cork the whining over clone wars. If not I can always continue normal activities. Except I have to find more mud.

Not really good idea

If teams are based like that then they can actually rig the teams then when game starts they choose what class they like not saying people would do that but some would just to win. I actually think ld is fine the way it is right now

Rather then having them

Rather then having them choose, make it automatic, to prevent fake choices and rigged teams.
