Leave the invincibility frames out of Lockdown

Seeing as you have so many people actually liking the "bug" that removed the invincibility frames in LD I think it should be left alone. It makes a lot of weapons actually usable in LD that couldn't even be considered before. Even Blueflood is liking it and he's well known for being one of the better, and more rational, LD players.

Not only will certain weapons become viable, but it will encourage teamwork. Imagine a guy hitting you with his sword, while someone shoots you with a gun from a distance.

Only thing i fear is that you may be perma-interupted (Flourish line+ antigua line + dark retribution line). Then again if you go up against three people on your own, your stupid and would probably die anyway.

I don't know whether to be

I don't know whether to be for or against this. Ideally I'd like the invulnerability on some weapons tweaked so they don't cause any at all, like autoguns, Dark Retribution, and cutters, and also the hitstun modified. There's no reason someone should be able to first-hit someone and lock them in a flinch chain, and neither someone getting nailed by a Gran Faust's second hit and being able to counter immediately while the attacker is finishing their animation...

I'm all for this if hitstun was modified.

For once I'm seeing weapons other than the FF used, the FF and BTB are still showing up and doing a lot, but I'm also seeing the DVS, Autoguns, DR... it's wonderful. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep the lack of invincibility on rapid-hit weapons!

I personally like to charge

I personally like to charge in alone because it is fun to run around in the mayhem. But now when I charge in, every enemy hits me at the same time and bam! I'm dead just like that. Basically a one hit KO. Not very fun. :( I don't like being forced to have to wait for my teammates to catch up.

Also guardians really get the short end of the stick here, well any slow class really. Now if you fall behind your team it is possible for the enemy to swarm you and kill you before you can even do anything. At least before all their attacks would cancel each other out and you can at least get a few hits in. Now they just spam you to death.

Just did some testing

My goodness, lockdown feels so much better now. However, I do have a suggestion if this were to stay.

The guardian shield now melts to nothingness too easily. I killed a guardian's shield, and the guardian himself, using a blitz needle charge. Six shots from an AP and shield gone. Valiance takes it down really fast too. Keep in mind these are solo kills, with no assistance. If this change were to stay, I suggest buff the guardian shield's health so it will stay for more than 0.3 seconds.

Another thing is that since it is a bug, more likely than not they will fix it. But it would be nice if they simply took away invincibility frames in LD.

@Nodocchi You can still run around in mayhem, just has to be with your team. Once your teamates are there to distract, you can zoom in and start doing what you do best. This feeling that you are feeling now is called having to use teamwork, lol.

I'm not entirely sure were I

I'm not entirely sure were I stand in this argument, but I think the fact that weapons (I was so disappointed when I found out about the Catalyzer series) that just don't work due to these invincibility frames is plain wrong.

The way I see it with the "stun-locking/flinching" issue, is that if it could already practically be done with some Weapons (I'm looking at the Flourish series) before this bug, why not with these others?

With regards to simultaneous strikes from multiple sources: I believe this is fine. This encourages teamwork and is generally a logical solution if one is facing a single enemy and hopes to increase one's odds of survival. This happens in PVE, does it not? If one is completely surrounded, one often dies. If this were to be kept in PVP however, I don't think that it would be right that teammates can run through each other. It makes no sense how six swordsmen could all hit one person at once. If this were to be actually done, they would have to literally surround the target.

Concerning one-shot kills (full-health death from the firing of a single weapon's attack): I can't think of any nicer way to write this but if this actually happened to you then you probably deserved it. With weapons that possess attacks that are capable of doing this, actually performing this tends to be very difficult.

I'm not particularly familiar with the Guardian issue but I suppose you can see that I'm leaning closer to some kind of removal of these invincibility frames, perhaps, not exactly as it is now.

My personal opionion

I'd rather not have it. It may allow more weapons to be usable but then it turns into a "who can press this button the fastest contest" kinda contest. Also as the person before me has said the flinch lock has gotten way worse.

Instead of having the invincibility back how about shorting it maybe about 50%. (so maybe i can counter now when i get attacked by 4 skolvers at once)

Unless you can find a way to make other class beside striker to even compete in an fair terms in LD.

1. Guardian shield break too easily and tanking with hp to preserve shield is now very suicidal
2. Recon can get swarmed once he/she lose their cloak and no chance of retaliating

As of now my testing conclude ( take in mind its a hypothesis) that if months time the weapon variability will be offset by the monotone of LD class since few people will opt for recon and guardian whilst striker is going to be overused also take in mind asi and ctr weapon price gonna go up for all kinds of weapons since asi is going to be everything on this new LD format.

TL/DR: Weapon variability gonna be exchanged with class balance therefore a few people will use other class than striker making striker overused.

Your testing probably didn't include Dark Retribution. One does not simply swarm a guy surrounded by purple swirly orbs of darkness. It was effective and I don't even have Merc Demo- with Merc Demo and DR, a Recon will make a base No-Man's-Land. Also keep in mind that, prepatch it was the same- a Recon still would have had no chance of retaliating if found uncloaked. They are no easier to find cloaked than they were prepatch, and their arsenal is more powerful- think Antiguas, think Needlers, and think Alchemers. And DR, and RSS.

As for Guardian Shields, I agree that a buff is in order- perhaps appying the invulnerability ONLY to the shield, giving Guardians a powerful edge over many weapons. What I see is Recon being MORE BALANCED, closer to Striker's effectiveness.

Trust me- I played a game where it was all Gunners and Bombers versus Swordy-clones (with annoying Polaris). Guess which side won? The Gunners and Bombers- who, might I add, didn't have most of their team on Striker like the Swordies.
