I was just wondering, does the ASI effect of armor and UVs affect the attack speed of the Fang of Vog? i bought one recently from Brinks the token trader, and used it in a number of dungeons/Clockwork floors with my full Vog Cub set, and even my Swift Strike Buckler, but my attack seems to be even SLOWER then most other 3-hit swords. and it does not change even when i equip different armor.

So I ask this: does ASI affect FoV at all? Is it working for you other players? Or is my game just bugged somehow?

Metagenic's got it right.

Metagenic's got it right. I've got one too. Just stay to the charge mostly. The strikes are too weak considering the speed. ASI does affect all blades but, as Metagenic said, the speed of FoV is the speed of a slow blade.

As disappointing as it may sound...

The Fang of Vog's regular attacks are weaker than that of the brandish-types, making the charge attack its one positive aspect (outside of status infliction with regular strikes) over the brandish-types. So yeah, it's both slower and weaker than a brandish...quite the disappointment, really. At least the charge attack still kicks hinds.

Thank you for letting me know about the attack speed. I already knew to only use the charge, but it's hard to when it burns me every other charge, even with my full vog set. But that just may be me being unlucky. i have the same problem with my faust always cursing me 4-5 charges in a row with no curse resistance. so until i get my Grey Owlite shield, i may not even use my FoV. Also, im assuming that even with fire Res Max, there will always be a chance for fire, am i correct?

FoV is fun fun fun.

What exactly does getting a Grey Owlite Shield have to do with your FoV? Shield stats only affect a shield while you are shielding and once something is inflicted upon you, a shield can no longer hope to block it.

From what I hear, nobody has found a point where it doesn't. Assuming you were wearing the Vog set while using it, you know that using two Fire Res Max still leaves you getting lit but for significantly less damage. It's a very fun sword but you have to be able to embrace the fact you will likely die... Use with caution. ^_^

On the note of the Faust, I was lucky enough to get a Curse Low on my Divine Veil so Curse is fine for me(Only one weapon cursed and one vial iirc). However, I upgraded my Faust to GF due to not knowing the horrid charging... >_>

I'm a little late to the discussion, but I might as well point out that Lancer Knightz has detailed data on how all levels of ASI affect Fang of Vog's combo speed.

I strongly agree with the other posters here, that the point of this weapon is the charge attack.

Sorry, I forgot that the shield bonuses only apply to the shield. And I also agree with Realnight, I would love to see it have cutter mechanics. When I first saw the sword, I actually thought it did have them. if the game was ever patched to add them, then it may be my new favorite sword.
