In LD, give invincibility frames only to guardians, and the players protected by their shields

The recent "bug" in LD caused a lot of uproar. There were loads of arguments, pros and cons.
But it mostly highlighted how unbalanced LD is.

So how about a compromise?
Only guardians with their shields up, and the players protected by the shields should get invincibility frames.
Everyone else does not.

Pros:
a. Guardians, and thus teamwork, will be very important since they prevent players from getting one shotted, especially when capping.
b. Strikers will no longer be one man armies. They can now be mobbed if they rush off alone.
c. Recons will benefit. Since they usually die once their cloak is broken, this change isn't too bad. On the other hand...
d. A large number of weapons can now be used to their full potential (cutters, blitz, toothpicks, hammers, guns, etc.).

Cons... when you're not near a guardian:
a. already overpowered weapons will become even more powerful (toothpicks and hammers)
b. new op weapons? (cutters, blitz)

Dont you see the obvious flaw. The shield blocks incoming damage, players arent getting hit directly in the first place :p
A guardian can only get hit when his shield breaks, but you said the invincibility frames appear when the shield is up....

It doesnt make much sense.

I'd think he means a 5~10 second buff for those that have walked into the ally's aura that gives them invincibility frames for the duration.

One of the biggest complaints

One of the biggest complaints about removing invincibility frames was that guardian shields were too weak.

What I meant was:
a) if the guardian shield is hit once, it will weaken the shield, but if the shield gets hit again in a very short time (during the invincibility frames), it will not be damaged at all.
b) the player can drop his shield and counterattack without taking damage during these invincibility frames.
c) the guardian gets invincibility frames when its shield is broken, giving him time to counterattack.
d) this applies to players protected by the shield as well.

In short: Only players "hit" when protected by the shield get invincibility frames.

A buff would also be a pretty good idea though...

This just masks the unbalancedness

Guardians are screwed when they're attacked by multiple enemies, I don't see why making them last slightly longer will change it much. Also, giving a player the ability to counter-attack with invincibility seems bad. If they're getting interrupted, invincibility is kinda okay, though. Making allies have the same buff is just as stupid. If they would remove AA from LD it would soooo much harder for players to fight guardians, since flourish combos roll off them. They could just make shield-bumping work with guardians, though. It'd have to have some serious range tho. If guardians were just sticking together, though, you wouldn't be having this problem. The real issue with guardians, from what I've seen, is their vulnerability to ranged attacks. This has gotta get fixed.

Shield receives damage. The guardian blinks, avoiding next hits. Shield got enough time to recover some damage.
