The updates in the past few weeks have been causing me many problems. Last week, I, along with many users this week, have experienced very lengthy update download times and failures. After the 2 hour long update, it failed verification in the spiral knights updater. I had no choice but to delete everything and start over. After doing this twice, it worked. This week, it was a quick update, no problems. My friend, however, had the lengthy 2 hour update issue this week. I suggested that they use the steam 'verify integrity of game cache' option. Immediately after doing so, along with some other people I had suggested this to, it worked! HUZZAH! But today my friend is now missing textures and names for the promos. So if a search for 'crown' is done in the Auction house, nothing happens. If a search is not entered in the AH, then the promo items show up, but are white (missing texture/image) and have the developer names. So somehow, the game was able to load without the proper update. I assume the 'verify integrity' option is the culprit. But how else are we to get the game to update? And now that the textures/names are missing, how do we get the game to update to see the promos? If this is not an isolated problem with the one friend of mine, then it may cause others to have issues, and this will be yet another promo that's cut short for us (since we cannot see the items, or search for them in the AH). I'm going to delete, yet again, everything from my friends pc that is spiral knights related and hope for the best. Again, these updates are becoming a real headache.
Is there a way to force an update/verification via the updater?
