Things like what kind of damage has been dealt to you more/less, what kind of monsters have killed you more/less, crown and cristal energy balance sheets, recent level activity and things that point out your preformance in general. That way, you can have a better understanding of your succeses and errors, so you can correct them or think about weapons and armors that can cover a litlte better your gamplay weakneses.
Integrate game statics in your forum profile
Welp, i'm kinda new to the forums. The central idea was to get a way to gather info about your own preformance somehow, so you can improve. Maybe it can be implemented in-game, as a tab in your gear set up.
And the event hub is a totally diferent thing. I do care about it, as i can see what my guild and friends are doing... but it doesnt say anything about your own preformance.
See here for a few things such as getting a forum avatar. That section is for both people new to the game and forums.
From what I can interpret of the original post you seem to be suggesting the following:
- Damage counter
- Enemies killed
- Crown and CE obtained
- Type of floors cleared
- Performance review
A damage counter would inflate egos everywhere. Look at what happens in Lockdown.
A literal head count on how many enemies killed. Why is this useful? Do you expect not to kill enemies to complete floors? Do you have issues with other people killing things for you?
Event hub, your friends and guild members can see it if your crown rate is high enough. CE rate is irrelevant because only CE merchants want to know what happens amidst their sales with ease whereas everyone else only needs to know when they are going to use it.
Back to the enemies killed counter, what would the purpose of this be?
Performance is entirely subjective. There is no "you need to improve on this" definable. There are countless styles to play and only you are the judge of how well you are able to play as yourself.
^ Said it all, man. Said it all.
No, really - that's basically what I would have written except my subject line would not have read "Honk".
Thanks for the link.
I did not mention a Damage Counter, but rather how much damage has been dealt to you of each type of the diferent kind of damages that can be dealt. That way, if there is a particular rotation in the clockworks, you can prepare a better standard equipment. This might be a good thing for new players roaming the clockworks. I can see older players not paying too much atention to this info, as they have gear for each and every situation, but even so, knowing what kind of damage has been dealt to you more can make you aware of a particular weaknes in your arsenal or set up.
The enemies killed: it would not be a general head count per se... but it would give you info about what particular enemy has dealt more damage to you, so the player can familiarize with the name of the enemy and what enemies are harder to kill for you. That way, you can practice killing them in a particular stratum.
CR and CE balance sheets could give u info about your spendings, but not only in income and outcome, but in days of the week and time, so you can have better info about the movement of the economy. Like, what days and at what hours are kinda better for buying CE, for example, and can be a way to plan your spendings in CR more carefully.
Info about what kind of floors you are strugling more with, could be usefull to plan ahead.
I concur in that preformance is totally subjective, but i still think some data could be usefull to know. Anyway, if there is a particular kind of data someone thinks it could be usefull to know about, this could be a nice tread to add it.
I feel like what you've described is still not quite useful.
Sure, hard numbers make it really easy to see what's going to do the most damage to you, but it should already be fairly obvious since you know 1) what kinds of enemies you're fighting and what kind of damage they do and 2) what kind of resistances your equipment set has. It's simple - if your armor doesn't offer resistance against the damage type dealt by the enemies you're dealing with, your armor is not well suited for that particular set of enemies. If anything, newer players simply need to learn this table.
Tracking the enemies that have killed you should not be necessary unless you have faulty memory. It should be pretty simple to remember which enemies have killed you the most. The same goes for tracking which floors you struggle with.
The Spiral Knights economy is a strange and wonderful thing. If you really think tracking times, dates, and prices will be useful to you then I'd say just do it on your own time. There's no need for developers to spend time implementing code for a tracking feature when hardly anyone will bother using the feature, since the economy seems to be controlled by a bunch of playful rich people who are bound to start messing around with tracking data in their favor.
Not everyone uses their actual knight for their forum name. Many do this to maintain anonymity since name and behavior define identifies individuals. Unless you meet someone in the game and know them well, anyone could be anyone else on the forum. I use my own knight for my name personally to open communication to the community rather than hiding behind a mask. If I did have a mask it would have a disturbing, melted face which would give everyone nightmares. All the nightmares.
This is not Facebook or Twitter. We already have the event hub and very few care about it anymore.
