I am having a weird issue--I can't go to Haven, either via the ready room or from a dungeon elevator. I can do missions, but can't get into town. Has anyone dealt w/ this before? I have tried restarting Steam a few times, and whenever I try to enter Haven, I get a black screen.

I'm having the same problem. It started after finishing the Legion of Almire mission and the level froze on exit.
EDIT: I was able to get to haven by joining someone on my friends list who was in Haven.

The black screen thing has
The black screen thing has always existed. Usually I just press Esc and choose return to haven, although that sometimes isn't an option when I'm on a floor.
What you could do is open your task manager, right click java, and put the priority to high. I don't notice a difference, but its said to help. If all else fails, shut down java via the task manager and restart it. Shutting down java disconnects you from the server, so you don't get logged off immediately, and you get the d/c sign in clockworks. Something else you can do is open another Sk window, and log into your account without closing the first one.

Temporary solution.
If you're in the ready room or in a mission, you can join a friend/guildie already in haven by the social tab, and that'll take you to haven without a problem

This has been happening to my friend and I all day, but has never happened to us before. Occasionally it would let us in, but usually not. Also, whenever we exited missions, we would reliably get this problem at the same time. Maybe some of the servers are down today. I don't know, but that's my best theory.
EDIT: If the problem really is that the servers are down, it seems like it should be fixed quickly. Maybe we will even be able to get into Haven later today.

Been happening to me recently.
I get black screen or stuck on the mission completion screens.
Using Steam Spiral Knights on XP.
End up just having to close Java and reopen the game.

If you guys are in a guild, you could all just hang out in the guild hall with your guildmates. Though it would be nice if we could access the AH and everything :( I sent a support ticket at least an hour ago or so and no response, so I don't know how much good that will do. But give it a shot, if you want.
EDIT: If you join a friend in Haven, you can get in that way :)

Sending this over to Technical Issues, but I did want to let you all know that we're aware that English Havens are currently not being as open and accepting of everyone as they should be, and our developers are currently in the process of giving them a stern talking-to.
"Look," they're saying. "We're a welcoming, friendly game. You're a welcoming and friendly town. Just look at that bright happy fountain."
Haven does not reply as the developers neglected to give it a mouth and larynx. The cads.
"Come on, Haven. You're lovely. Everyone just wants to see you! Tell us what's wrong."

"Please, Haven?" cajoles the developer. "Would you like some cake? I think we have some left over."
Haven shrugs, alarming some snipes which immediately snuggle up to a nearby Stranger for comfort. The Stranger lifts a hand slowly and gestures imperiously towards a Sloom which is oozing its way around the fountain.
"AHA!" cries the developer. "You need a nap!"
(In other words, we're rebooting in 45 minutes or so. If you're still having trouble afterwards, please let us know!)

Still having trouble
As of 8:30 EST, still could not enter Haven without joining a friend there.
Edit: Rebooted my computer and it has worked twice so far, with no problems!
Yeah, I'm getting a black screen too.
