A short list of changes that would be better than messing with shard bombs

Oh wait, not so short.

Problems:

  • normal damage sucks
  • status-causing weapons are bad
  • anti-family weapons are terrible
  • certain charges are less than useless, one is obviously OP.

Fixes:

  • weapons with normal damage (Suda/Trig, Levi, etc) do damage:medium (15%) more than specialized damage weapons of the same type. This is not an ability attached, but a damage modifier. This makes using a normal damage weapon more viable.
  • weapons with a status effect (flourish variants, suda/triglav, gran faust) proc 25% more often on second swing. Add an ability "Damage Reduced Medium" to each (so the damage can be made up for with UVs). This makes status weapons more attractive.
  • Striker charge attack sped up by 200%, becomes the Blitz Needle of swords (with similar pause after). Suda/Triglav charge attack sprays rocks in random radius around charge, dealing secondary damage. 5* brandish charge explosions made smaller as they were pre-nerf.
  • Add ability "Fiend Damage High" to Cold Iron line. Add ability "Slime Damage High" to Wild Hunting Blade. This makes moderately attractive cross-family swords.
  • Striker swords have zero knockback on first strike, moderate knockback on the ghost strike. Spur swords do not cause projectile dodge/block with the ghost strike.
  • reduce the 200-degree radius of the flourish first strike to perhaps 45 degrees. That swing is bananas.
  • don't ever change the Cautery Sword. Ever.

All of these things would be better than changing shard bombs. I like the idea of the new bomb style, but removing the old one is the wrong maneuver.
