basically asking what would be the best choice or choices would be the best for running around in something like a full or mix volcanic or mad bomber.

Bopp is right, but fourm clutter isn't the biggest problem here.
I'd reccomend VPS. Lots of normal defense plus stun and fire ressist, the two most common statuses in gates.

One shield for each damage
One shield for each damage type is usually suggested. This way, you can switch shields for the appropriate floors.
Barbarous thorn shield, crest of almire/skelly, and owlite is probably the most used shields in their damage area.

Why do with three shields what you can do with two?
A bomber has no use for Barbarous Thorn Shield.
Instead, I recommend a Crest of Almire and Dragon Scale Shield to cover four defense types with two shields.

Dragon Scale... isn't that great
I've used it... it breaks from practically everything. Crest of Almire is a good shield, VPS is good for an all rounder good for Vana and stuff. I used the OS (Omega Shell) because it has the highest amount of HP for a shield in the game it's served me well and it's normal defense is second only to Plate Shields.

Dragon Scale Shield is awful.
You need the normal protection.
If I was out to save money + thought I'd rarely use my shield, I'd go with just the VPS. Really though, GoA + CoA + IPS (or maybe Royal Jelly Shield, for looks) would be my first choice.

so
i got a almire, barbarous, so decided make a plate shield for running around regularly so far its 4* with element max uv thinking of making it into volcanic to offset my heavy demo suit when i make it into mad demo unless i cannot get a good resist uv later.

Shield defense cannot "offset" armor defenses. They work differently.

Pure bomber doesn't need BTB, so there's either Ironmight, Royal Jelly, or Aegis. Aegis is cheap and average. Ironmight has a lot more normal defense and stun resist. Royal Jelly has more Piercing resist, stun resist, and... Sleep resist.

I consider beasts and slimes the easiest enemies.
I'd make both CoA and Owlite for shadow and elemental monsters respectively.
