I think it would be cool to have more powerfull weapons at the cost of losing the advantages of a shield. Using an axe or a shotgun for masive close quarter damage, at the risk of getting more damage yourself because the lack of a shield would make things more exciting.
Two slot weapons
1) I dont think u absolutely need a shield for anything past t1
2) Didn't use the search bar, sorry. Will look for those threads. It was an idea that poped in my head sudenly, and i posted it.
3) You can say i want to limit myself, but i rather think it would be more fun to make the stakes higher in some cases. Nothing more.
1) you're obviously still in t1 if you don't know you need a shield past t1
As if current weapons arent strong enough. 'Massive damage' isnt worth it. Go make a Barbarous shield :p
Not to really weigh in on the whole dual weapon situation, but I would like to comment on the sheild. Feel free to diagree with me, but I have done several runs with no shield in T3 (my haven loadout didn't have one for the longest time). Yes, it makes it harder but not impossible.
You just need to think more, something most players in this game can't. Haha.
Good luck with lockdown.
But no one said it's impossible. Many people already run with SSB, wich is next to nothing.
Shield strength... isn't really the issue.
I seem to remember, when I took out my shield, that you can't actually shield cancel attacks.
You also lose the ability to perform any kind of shield bump.
Both of these are pretty major drawbacks, tbh.
I managed to do the whole RJP run, but I came pretty close to dying several times.
e.e
You need a shield. It helps speed up recovery from attacks, if you know how to use it.
If you don't use a shield, swords rely a ton on the drag/lunge effect. As do guns. Both of these require space and freedom of movement. In t3 and some T2 areas, you are actually forced to walk in a limited area to avoid traps. And bombs are significantly harder to use without a shield. If you wanted to charge, but suddenly found yourself in a bad situation, you let go of the charge and shield to avoid that ridiculously long up-down of the bomb animation. Which also puts you at like -90% movespeed.
So... dual wielding/2-handed?
1) You absolutely need, need, need a shield for anything past T1
2) You suggestion isn't original. If you used the search bar, you'd find too many of threads just like, many far more fleshed out than this. You haven't provided mechanics, examples, art, or any detail at all, really.
3) You can swing 5 different kinds of heavy swords with one hand in this game, why would you want to limit yourself?
