First off it's a general belief among bombers that OOO shouldn't change it the way they are.

However I'll admit hiting enemies with all the shards is OP. How to fix this? Make the shards deal drasticaly less damage, however accumulate more damage as they travel. Sorta like the polaris, but different. I'm not saying make a polaris bomb.

How about when the shards reach their maximum range, they detonate, but hitting something beforehand breaks them. This would be useful with a mist bomb, you hide in the mist, and ring explosives around the edges. Launched explosives, but still like bullets, not like blest cube goop.

Also you should be able to tilt the intire bomb pattern. However your crosshair should be inbetween the lines of the two shards nearest too it, to pervent making it handle like a gun.

So shard shoudlt multi hit... what about calibur or worse, FoV.

Hell, they nerfed Dark Retribution since it mowed down RJP.. FoV has been doing it for ages and not a single nerf (as if the chances of burning stops people from spamming charges).

ERR... NO.

While you say you don't intend a polaris bomb... that's what this sounds like. And the instance that comes out, it will either be nerfed or removed.

So.... NO!

P.S. Getting all the shards into one enemy ruins the bomb's ability to provide a general Crowd DPS as I've come to call it. Let alone how hard it can be to line up an enemy perfectly into the one-shot-KO. Overall this thing's no more OP than a Brandish or DA in my eyes.

Part of the problem with RSS

Part of the problem with RSS isn't from how the game currently functions. Designing MMOs also require thinking about future content. How do you design new content where the RSS won't quickly shred new monsters apart or become part of the required gear to beat it?

When you have a problematic game element, trying to design around it is like painting yourself into a corner. Eventually you will run out of room with no place to go.

Problems with RSS

One problem is that they have too much radius (not too hard to change)
Second is that on certain monsters it spawns all shards inside of hit area - really hard to change without altering how hit detection works forr RSS
Third problem is that shards fly too fast for monsters to react - they do in fact react but too late. Noticeable on beasts, fiends and gremlins (in this case I guess devs could add prediction on shards - make invisible explosion that triggers their evasion mechanics split second before bomb explodes and then the damaging explosion, but that would be hard to change too)
So, they changed the bomb mechanics. Let's see how it will work out. Maybe it will not be as bad as you think.

I own a CIV for vanna, and a FoV, to multihit most zombies, or even trojans and lumbers, I have to freeze them. Crystal bombs offer nearly no knockback. This gives me an idea.....

"While you say you don't intend a polaris bomb... that's what this sounds like. And the instance that comes out, it will either be nerfed or removed."
The shards don't grow, they just detonate. Being hit beforehand is like a polaris shot, but they don't travel once powered up.

"Getting all the shards into one enemy ruins the bomb's ability to provide a general Crowd DPS as I've come to call it."
People aren't using it for crowd control on RJ.

"Third problem is that shards fly too fast for monsters to react - they do in fact react but too late. Noticeable on beasts, fiends and gremlins "
Well yhea, the devs made almost all peircing weapons difficult to dodge, because they're supposed to kill beasts and feinds.
