right, since I've always wondered a bit about the knights themselves -- not their adventures on an alien world -- I thought 'what would happen if an escape pod from skylark got knocked off course, what if someone else found it? what are the knights truly? So this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I cannot promise the record I will keep shall be complete, or without redaction. What we have found may change how we view the stars as we currently know them. For the need of introductions, my name is Doctor Cornelius Disalvo; I work for a division of the united states experimental weaponry and research division. We're the guys who're called whenever something weird goes down -- and this definitely fits the bill.

The basic incident report is as follows: at roughly 1900 hours, twenty miles out of the town of West burrow, Kansas -- what is best described as an escape pod crashed into the local swamps. The pod itself appeared heavily damaged, extraction teams recorded a luminescent blue mist escaping from several broken pipes.

The pod was given to my team to study at roughly 2200 hours, upon closer inspection, we discovered what appeared to be a control panel on one side of the pod. No writing of any kind appeared to be on the panel, and power appeared to be knocked out. A single window into the pod, however, revealed what will here on out be referred to as subject alpha. A crew was called in to pry open the door to the pod, and subject alpha was removed for further examination

Subject alpha appears roughly humanoid, although highly mechanical. It appears to be wearing some kind of heavy outer shell, an armor like substance, making closer analysis of the being itself impossible. The armor, however, appears to part in a visor, around the face, however closer inspection revealed the 'face' -- or what was visible of it -- was simply a black material, it seems to be similar to the kind of thing used in LED displays -- TVs, clocks, that sort of thing.

Inside the pod several pieces of weaponry were found locked into a wall, the restraints form a cage-like barrier around what appears to be an explosive, a small handgun, and an edged weapon reminiscent of a broadsword used in medieval Europe. The metal bars are of an unknown metal, but appear to be reinforced with some form of clear, heavily durable material. The division has succeeded in creating cracks in the clear material, as well as denting the metal bars themselves, but heavy progress has been deemed impossible at this time.

Also in the pod is a seat, fairly normal to Earth design, as well as several straps -- apparently meant to ensure the safety of the occupant. Another control that -- on consensus -- the division has decided must control the seat, or other basic systems, on the right arm of the seat. A small pump was found underneath this seat. Unlike other instruments and objects within the pod, this appears to be removable, perhaps meant for mobility during it's use. Until the object can be quarantined within a safe environment and some procedure can be drawn up based upon its outer appearance, no testing will be done on it.

This log will be continued as more experiments are performed both on the pod, on subject Alpha, and the unknown object.

Erm..

aren't there a set set of elements in the universe? Just a question, because If so, then the un-known metal is known...

Anyway, interesting idea...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Doctor D-------- was apprehended today while performing an unofficial test upon the object taken from the pod at approximately 0200 by site security. His hastily scribbled notes were found next to the device, and reads as follows:

box appears to be dimensions 1' x1' with a control panel on one side. Language is unknown, although the buttons appear to be a fairly simple design. a single lever on the far left of the panel, slider below it, a pad of 3x3 buttons -- first guess appears to be a keypad. Pulling of the lever has no visible effect, however a small click can be heard from within the machine. Pulling the lever to its starting position appears to produce the same effect. The slider appears to open two small grates on the side and top of the device. These grates have several metal bars across them, and a human hand definitely cannot fit between them. pulling the slider back to its original position closes both of these grates. Tapping any of the buttons in any five-digit combination sounds a high-pitched buzz, I assume signaling an incorrect code. I have thus attempted this five ti

It was at this time that the security apprehended Dr. D-------- after hearing the buzzing noise mentioned in his notes. The room the device was housed in was put into lock-down while the device is observed through a blast window to observe any and all adverse effects. This procedure will be in effect for the next twenty-four hours until it can be confirmed that the repeated attempts to 'activate' the device have not and will not produce any adverse effects.

Dr. D-------- is in lock-down for the time being and his actions are under review by a board from the site directors.

update 3

Just finished a heated argument with some of the site directors, they refuse to allow me to release the interview with Doctor D--------, needless to say the object is still in lock-down, at roughly 1200 today it gave off a light blue, shimmering substance. the room was airtight, so one of the researchers was sent in full hazmat to obtain an example of the gas. With the introduction of this second unknown substance, the device will be known as object Beta, with the gas taken from the room labeled as Beta-2.

Today marked the beginning of what I hope will be a series of examinations on Subject Alpha Doctor Albus, Doctor M------- and myself have been selected to lead any and all procedures to be performed on subject Alpha. Other faculty of the facility may be mentioned throughout procedures, as myself and the other two doctors are simply leading, many others shall have contributed their own skills to theses procedures.

Doctor Albus was the first to closely examine the outer shell that subject Alpha has. He brought attention to what appeared to be a series of clamps or clasps that connected what now can be seen as several pieces of armor. These 'clasps' are quite large, and appear similar to the heavy locks on the security doors around the facility -- large 'teeth', zipper like appearance, etc. After this discovery, Doctor M------- ordered several scans of the subject to attempt to see under the 'shell'. before he was moved to out of the examination room, I noticed one last thing. By closely examining the neck, what appears to be skin can be seen. All researchers present were called to observe this, and Doctors Albus and R--- were in agreement that it was not organic. However, several clear tubes are visible close to the surface of this 'skin', Professor Kurosaka, biologist, has related these tubes to veins in humans, at the current time; these claims are totally unfounded, until a way to remove the armored shell of Alpha can be found, or until the scans ordered by Doctor M------- come back with results, it is impossible to determine the use of these tubes.

Release of the interview between site directors and Doctor D-------- has been green-lighted. the following is a transcript of the proceedings, note site directors are identified as M-1 through M-5.

M-1: You acknowledge that you have broken site protocol, and hereby forfeit yourself to punishment, is this correct?
D: yes ---, i understand the consequences of my actions
M-1: good, now please, walk us through the night of your transgressions
M-2: and please, remember doctor, do not spare us details
D: very well. I never left the facility, that's a good start. D: D-------- begins speaking with a monotone drawl, an edge to his voice i accessed object Beta at 2400 hours.
M-4: thank you. please continue
D: Due to the device's positioning, as you all know it was found under the single seat within the pod, I hypothesized, due to the use of the pod as some sort of escape or landing capsule, it was simply something to help the occupant.
M-3: you recognize the massive leap you took in this "hypothesis"

D: that's better. As I was saying, i believed that this device would've been something to directly benefit the occupa- I'm sorry, subject alpha. In my mind the set up of that pod was reminiscent of human jets, the control panel, the seat, all those buckles -- which would make the device, just maybe, a breathing aid.
M-4: we have the object under lock-down at the moment, we do not know what the five attempts you made on what you believed was a keypad had on the device.
D: ---, as long as my hypothesis holds true, I believe that it will be nothing more than air
M-1: Thank you Doctor. this was, enlightening
D: of course
M-2: if I could ask one last question, D--------, what combinations did you enter into the device?
D: that's... quite a stretch to remember, ---. I'm sorry, I was in such a rush that i never thought to record that, and with all this excitement, they seem to have slipped my mind.
M-5: Thank you any, Doctor. Your escorts will take you back to your room
D: oh of course, i wouldn't dream of leaving without them.

It is worth noting that Doctor D-------- was released late last night after several tests with object Beta-2 shed no light on it's nature. D-------- is on parole at the moment, but he is leading a small team to investigate the nature of Beta-2. Results of this testing are still classified.

the scans ordered by Doctor M------- came back, most of them only gave us an outline of the armor, but one was able to give us a better look at Subject Alpha under the shell. There is no identifiable anatomy to identify gender, if there truly is one. It appears that professor Kurosaka was correct as well. The scan revealed a network of what are believed to be the same tubes found at Subject Alpha's neck, that spans it's entire body. Doctor D--------'s theory on the purpose of object beta is looking more and more probably as these investigations drag on. We've been attempting to break through the armor that subject Alpha is wearing so that we can closer examine the apparent vein network, updates as they are allowed.

update 5

Doctor D-------- has been working nonstop on the beta-2 gas sample, last night he almost got one of the new guys to breath some of it in. an on-hand officer stopped him, of course, but he wasn't forcing the experiment in the first place. It's worth noting that he has almost defined the gas as harmless, and identified some key aspects of the gas. this morning one of the scientists recorders dropped near the gas, he was about to pick it up when he noticed the gas in containment began to move towards the device. Doctor D-------- was called over, and it was observed that the gas moved toward the electronic device. This effect was replicated with: 1 phone, 2 recorders, 1 lab camera, and 1 mp3 player of indeterminate brand. This has been shown to only happen at close proximity, and it was noted by doctor D-------- that all of these devices were never fully charged. Charging these devices resulted in no response from the gas. Doctor D-------- approached doctor Albus and myself soon after this discovery to share his findings. He wants to use the gas on subject Alpha. He believes that his original hypothesis was correct, but not how he imagined it. it was indeed a device to aid subject Alpha in travel, but knowing that Alpha does not appear organic -- its his power-source. I told him to go to site administrators with his claim and request, and he got agitated and rushed off. I assume that he has been spending the rest of the day in the appeal process.

The team working with subject Alpha got through the armor, early this morning, around 0500. The saws the team were using wasn't having as much an effect on the armor, scratches were visible, but no progress was made. The whole team recognized that subject Alpha could be possibly damaged if the saws did indeed cut through, so after the last saw broke, the attempts were suspended. Doctor M------- noticed in one of the scans that what at first just seemed to be creases or cuts in the armor may actually be a similar vein system as that found inside of the subject alpha scan. if this is true, it could be that that alpha and its armor share a similar power. Perhaps Doctor D-------- was correct. We haven't been getting anything out of any of the tests we've been pursuing -- my team OR his. perhaps we should try bringing some of these objects together, it could potentially be a major jump in our research.

Update 6

it took almost a days worth of debate with administrators to get a green light for D-------- and I's experiment. Even now they're making us take the highest precautions. Both the beta-2 gas sample and subject Alpha have been placed in high security testing chamber ----, with ---------- standing by in case of test failure -- whatever that might entail. at 0600, the beta-2 gas in containment within close proximity with subject alpha, causing the gas to move to the side of it's containment, affirming the belief that the armor, and perhaps subject alpha itself, are indeed electronic, or at least, mechanized in design.

using suction, roughly 1L of the gas was extracted, and then released around the armor. After hanging in the air for approximately 2 seconds before rapidly descending into several crevices in the armor. There was no large response, and no physical change in the armor, or subject Alpha. At 0630, most personnel left the chamber, with ---------- watching over subject alpha in-case the beta-2 gas effected the gas overtime. At 0800, after personnel had left the chamber, Doctor -------- and myself were called back, as subject alpha appeared to be reacting to the gas. The following is an in-depth log of the experience.

0801-00: Doctor -------- and myself arrive in testing chamber ----
0801-30: ---------- released from duty, left on perimeter of chamber for security purposes
0802-00: extremities of subject alpha observed twitching or otherwise moving very slightly
0802-40: low humming heard by Doctor --------
0803-00: Doctor D--------'s claim is confirmed by on-site ---------- and myself.
0804-00: low-powered light red/orange lights appear on or inside of the outer armor of subject alpha
0810-00:low humming increases to louder whirring sound, identified as coming from the torso area of subject alpha
0812-00: supporting researchers called in to observe claims
0813-00: Doctor Wu claims to have heard a hiss coming from subject alpha's armor
0813-10: Doctor Wu's claim is confirmed by two fellow researchers and myself.
0813-50: vote is called as to whether observation should continue, or direct action should begin
0815-00: vote ends, in favor of action 8-2. Professor Kurosaka and doctor D-------- being in favor of continued observation
0817-00: Doctor Wu identifies the hissing as release of the large clamps identified in earlier examination of subject Alpha
0819-00: I observe the absence of any noise resonating from the torso of subject alpha
0819-20: my claim is confirmed by on-site staff
0819-40: vote is called to take action to remove the apparently armor of the apparently active subject Alpha
0820-10: vote concludes, 9-1 in favor of action to remove the armor, Professor Kurosaka dissenting
0820-30: lights seen on subject Alpha observed flickering
0820-50: on-site ---------- begins attempts to remove subject Alpha's armor
0821-10: Subject Alpha's armor begins to move away
0823-00: Subject Alpha's armor is fully removed
0823-05: Doctor D-------- observes red fumes billowed from armor seconds after its removal, claims these fumes were almost invisible, and dissipated quickly
0823-20: 5 supporting staff confirmed Doctor D--------'s claim
0824-30: staff evacuated from testing chamber ----, Doctor D-------- and myself re-enter with full hazmat gear.
0825-00: evaluation of subject Alpha reveals no signs of life; extremities unmoving, no rising or falling chest, or sounds or lights seen or heard.
0830-00: with the help of ---------- also in hazmat, armor from subject Alpha is removed from testing chamber ---- and placed inside a lock-down chamber
0833-00: with the help of ----------, subject Alpha is removed from testing chamber ---- and moved to a secured lock-down chamber.

After this experiment, the armor has been labeled as Alpha-2.

It was later requested by professor Kurosaka that the lock-down chamber containing Subject Alpha be given basic furnishings based on the apparent signs of life momentarily given during the experimentation. this request is under review

Update 7

At 0800 professor Kurosaka's request for furnishings in subject Alpha's lock-down chamber have been denied unanimously by site administrators. They have deemed that the movement seen in the experiment was a response from joints within the armor itself, caused by the sudden addition of power to the suit after a sustained period of inactivity.

at 0830 Doctor M-------- approached D--------. the whole of this discussion, I've already been told. cannot be released.
at 0930, both Doctors approached site administrators requesting a lift of D--------'s parole, as well as less restricted access when testing object Beta. I've been told that this appeal is also currently listed as classified. which leads to me waiting in line at -------------- to speak with administrators myself.

Due to ---------- restricting access to object beta, the remains of the beta-2 gas sample, and to subject alpha itself. No work is possible at the given time. Any unnecessary staff have been sent home for the day, only the administrators, and head researchers have stayed behind.

sorry for the long pause, 3 days of double shifts and internet blackouts left me fairly ko'd. WELP, I'll try to double update if I can.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the following is a transcript of Doctors M-------- and D--------'s discussion with site administrators of the removal of the high-security lock placed on object beta.

M-1: Please state the reason for the current gathering
D: both myself and doctor M-------- wish for the administrators to reconsider the high-security lock placed on object beta, and the beta-2 gas. If you expect us to do research, we're going to need them, without the strings attached.
M-4: we still do not know the nature of the device
M: that fear, ---, will only be calmed if we can experiment with the machine WITHOUT following all of these extraneous protocols.
M-2: what about the protocols renders them extraneous
M: the ---------- have been instructed at the first site of any response from the device, to evacuate all personnel. Even if we DID get a response from the device, we wouldn't be able to record any results because the whole chamber goes into lock-down.
M-2: I see. aside from this, is there any other 'extraneous' protocols?
D: you seem to have scheduled have of the ---------- to the four lock-down chambers. You can barely move around in the chambers without bumping into someone
M-5: Doctor, I understand that you have another request?
M: yes. Doctor Disalvo has asked us to bring forth his request to release lock-down on alpha-2.
M-3: Should we believe that he similarly believes in these extraneous protocols?
M: with all due respect, ---, I believe a majority of the researchers at the site would agree with these claims.
M-1: and you would go on record as to stake that removing these protocols would allow for more data from research efforts?
D: I would stake my reputation
M: I would... as well.
M-5: Allow us to confer in private.
the next half-hour, the administrators retired to a private chamber. no audio or video logs exist of the conversation from within this room, and both doctors in waiting the main room were silent during this period. the following exchange is after this half-hour lapse.
M-2: After conferring in private, we have decided to allow for the relaxing of the previously requested protocols, on both object beta, and alpha-2.
D: thank you very much, ---
M-4: Before you depart, Doctor Disalvo mentioned in records of a possible project regarding alpha-2?
M: yes, ---. He believes it is possible to --------------------------------------------------.
M-5: thank you M--------, please tell Doctor Disalvo to keep us posted on any developments on his, side project.

update 9

The following is an excerpt from the report given by Doctors M-------- and D-------- after further experimentation with object beta.

D--------'s hypothesis of a number-pad has been proven true. At the time of writing over 30 combinations have been entered into the pad. Every time 5-digits have been entered into the device, a tone that is the constant in duration and volume in all trials is emitted from the device. The effect of a "correct" entry-code is unknown at the time, although it is believed it may unlock the primary function of the device, at the time of this writing this is believed to be the creation and dispersion of beta-2 gas. On-site research staff have been told to record any combination they enter into a pad left with the device, as of now entering 'codes' has taken the form of a break activity. while on-duty, research staff have begun attempts to remove the panel -- the goal of this exercise is to perhaps circumvent the code, or to be able to connect one of the on-site code-breakers to allow quicker access to the device

My team has continued working with the alpha-2 armor. it appears to fit very similarly to that of medieval knights, with the exception of the clasps that were previously noted on examinations. Another interesting discovery occurred after Doctor Albus received results of scans done on the armor, without it's occupant. At symmetrical intervals on the armor pieces, there are large rectangular shapes. When we examined these areas on the armor, we could not find any bit of plating or welding that resembled these rectangles. I have already sent a researcher to contact both D--------'s team and site administrators asking for access to the beta-2 gas sample. If the gas can be used to fuel the armor, perhaps introducing it to the armor in it's currently inactive state will arouse a response similar to that observed in previous experimentation.

update 10

welp, hopefully I can start updating regularly again. with Job school and a computer crash wiping the stuff I had prewritten and ready, I decided that writing this had to be the thing on hold. but I'm back, so hopefully I can continue with this little adventure
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The complex has finally regained control of primary functions, with secondary systems being repaired as of this writing. Documentation of the attacks against this site are still under full lock-down, I cannot promise any of them will be released. The only documentation green-lighted at this time is of the new organism held at the site. The following is a documentation of the appearance, behaviors, and any other recorded information regarding it.

The organism that has assaulted this facility from the date of --/--/---- to --/--/---- has been designated as theta, to be held in secured lock-down for study. On the event of a breach. protocol Theta is to be fully undertaken, and the organism is to be terminated. It is unknown what relation Theta has to Alpha, besides the growth of theta on Alpha's pod. Theta appears to be made of a highly acidic semi-liquid substance, a comparison to jellyfish comes to mind upon viewing it. As acknowledged by security personnel and ----------, firearms discharged into this liquid body appear to have little affect on the creature, save for a core mass near the middle of theta. This core appears to be the brain of theta, shots fired at it eliciting a physical response of pain through a series of frantic undulations. The creature is completely hostile to all personnel who approach it, lashing out with a portion of its body formed into a tentacle like appendage. It has been remarked that any sort of object thrown into the creature will eventually dissolve due to it's acidic nature, over time increasing the mass of the creature itself.

Both Professor Kurosaka and Doctor M-------- have sustained injuries during the attacks, and have been in the critical ward of the site's ER for the last several days. Numerous other personnel sustained critical or fatal injuries in the attacks, and research efforts have been highly slowed by the lack of living or able staff. Damage sustained to alpha's pod has caused administrators to cease staff investigations of it, to stop any further damage from being sustained.

update 11

With things finally calming down throughout the site, a full investigation of Alpha could occur. A record of the study is noted with staff denoted with letters.

L: alright, for the records doctors L--, W-----, and J---- are spearheading this muffled voice 'autopsy? it isn't dead is it?' clear, to the recorder what will be referred to as an investigation at this time. Alright, base observations, the whole body appears to be made of some form of metal, we have been instructed not to take a sample, so no saws today. I can confirm reports from prior scans that there is no discernible gender, the thing is a blank slate.
W: I'm not seeing any breaks in the metal doctor
J: hold up, check the jaw
L: As heard, there is a break or other line in the metal around the 'chin' of Alpha. this break arcs upward to about 1/3rd muffled voice that looks about right, W-----? thank you. clear, to the recorder yes, confirmed to be approximately 1/3rd up what would be called the 'face' of Alpha. the break then curves gently down back to the bottom of the 'chin'. I can also confirm the presence of a patch of black material that was viewed upon Alpha's arrival. Doctor J----?
J: The black material appears to be a sort of tinted glass, upon closer inspection it does appear there are numerous small, what appear to be, bulbs below the glass.
W: I would advise attempting to interact with the 'jaw' of subject Alpha
L: Denied. I don't want to do anything that'll piss off the administrators
doctors L-- and W----- moved far enough from the recorder that their conversation could not be recorded
W: notable agitation in --- voice direct interaction with Subject Alpha is not advised. at this time.
J: uhm, on that note, is it advised to flip subject Alpha over? the back is not visible at this time.
L: go right ahead
W: be careful, we dont want to "piss off the administrators"
L: W-----'s agitation has been noted
J: help me with it, alpha's heavier than he looks
the recorder picks up several loud metallic bangs as subject alpha is turned over.
W: nothing visible
L: agreed, the back is as plain as the front
J: hold on, check the lower back
W: let the record state there is a tear in the metal of subject alpha
L: Note this could be a possible sample for testing the composition of the Alpha's plating.
J: I believe this concludes the investigation into Alpha, agreed?
L: agreed
W: motion carried, lets turn this thing off

Doctors L-- and W----- have been noted as to use a more professional attitude while working on-site, and their requests for using the small torn piece of plating for sampling alpha's composition as well as allowing direct interaction with subject alpha have been approved.
Doctor M--------'s condition appears to be improving, Professor Kurosaka's is deteriorating quickly. He appears to be experiencing symptoms similar to deleted I'm not sure if they'll allow publication of that in the final revisions, however. Public front staffing is preparing a story in the event of his decease, funding is being put aside for family, etc. Time will tell if he pulls through. if he does not, we will have lost a valuable resource.

Professor Kurosaka passed away from his wounds at 0340 today. The remains have been cremated, and have been received by his closest relatives. In line with site regulations, a last request was received by Professor Kurosaka, however the site administrators are having trouble following through with this request. On most cases of a staff's termination, the final request is to be carried through as soon as possible. The discussion with professor Kurosaka was recorded for purpose of the archives.

Kurosaka: I am sure that, given the prior incidents with the theta, I know that I am lost. As I alerted medical staffing, cores have begun to grow from the wounds, so it is predicted I have several hours left before complete mutation. -deep heaving coughs can be heard- Formal logs do not show it, but the research staff are meeting dead end after dead end with research regarding subject Alpha and the related objects. It may come as a shock to administrators, but the research staff have tried dozens and dozens of other tests, all of which lead to nothing. If they ever checked the archives, they'd know its not just the stuff on their desk we do down here... -more coughing can be heard- tha... that's why. We need. to wake alpha. -more coughing- I am sure that it holds the key to so very... very much. I will leave it to my colleagues to convince you of this necessity. Since I'm dying soon, and I know how much you love you- -at this point, the heaving coughs are noticeable between every several words- your rules, so Im sure youve alrea- already sent out a story. So i feel no shame in saying that you are- all bureaucratic pieces of -a low bubbling can be heard from this point out- ... sounds like im almost done. Wake up alpha. soon.

Site administrators and staff have been in a heated debate all day about professor Kurosaka's request. Who knows how long it will be before a decision is reached, but nothing else will be done until this is decided. Most of the research staff have gone to the administrator's quarters to either sit-in on discussions, or to attempt to sway opinions. Anyone who is still working is making such slow progress that nothing can be recorded at this time.

update 13

As school drags on, so does the process of securing time to write this. Its a little tougher than I thought making sure I can type all this stuff, but, unless someone speaks otherwise, I believe I will begin wrapping this up. This has been a good experiment for me, testing how well I can concoct a story, or hold peoples attention, that sort of thing. welp, one of the last updates incoming
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myself along with the other higher personnel had finished running through every scenario that comes to mind. All security personnel from non-essential areas had taken posts around the operating theater for the restoration to take place. The remaining sample of Beta-2 had been prepared for release, and the Beta device had been released from lock-down -- It is unknown if the beta-2 on-hand would have been able to sustain activity within the alpha construct, and continued work on unlocking the device had been unfruitful. The following is a mix of the events, and discussions had after resurrection. Time is started at 00-00 -- the beginning of the operation

0-00: the beta-2 gas was introduced in close proximity to alpha, gas was observed to flood through the cracks near alpha's 'chin'.
01-00: a whirring is heard by all on-site staff, the source is inside alpha
01-30: a low light is observed in the dark glass that indicate alpha's 'eyes'. The light was a deep red, near a purple in color.
02-00: a sound referred to as similar to nails on a chalkboard, or grinding metal is heard from Alpha
02-30: security told to stand down after drawing sidearms
03-00: the chest of alpha is observed rising and falling, gasps can be heard echoing from apparently in alpha.
03-25: Alphas limbs begin moving more and more erratically
03-50: Alpha bolts upright. a hollow scream is heard
03-55: Security are again told to stand down after drawing sidearms
04-00: Alpha begins coughing heavily and looking around before stopping at the beta device
04-20: Alpha grabs the alpha device putting in a 8 digit code -- as a note, this code was in view of personnel and cameras, and has been recorded in logs -- before pressing its whole palm across the pad.
04-25: a brief buzz is heard before alpha begins operating the lever and slider. After both have been pulled to their alternate position, Alpha again presses its palm to the device before a whirring is heard from the device
04-35: Beta-2 gas begins to flow from the top of the beta-device. Alpha begins what can only be described as drinking from the device -- It was up to its face, tilted with the opening down, the beta-2 entered what appears to be alpha's mouth, etc.
05-00: After ceasing to 'drink', a whirring was again heard from inside Alpha, as it again began to observe its surroundings.
05-10: One of the research staff slowly approached Alpha. He took precaution, turning out pockets, keeping palms facing upward. whispered commands for the doctor to move back are not heeded.

the following is a more personal account of the conversation that ensued, i feel this informal log gives a better description of events, forgoing protocol

"Can. You. Understand. Me?" a voice resounded within Alpha, its voice didnt move, it just sort of echoed. " voice protocol activate. " The doctor tried again, slower. "Can. You. Un-der-stand. Me?" Alpha's voice was different. I can best describe it as a person speaking through an intercom "I. Can." "I think its safe to discard the security, if you agree" One of the guards was about to speak, but the doctor stopped him and pointed them out. They rank lower than him, they had to listen. "Do you have a name?" Alpha's speaking appeared faster, the voice was still muffled, and sounded less androgynous than previously. "I cannot... I can't remember." "we designated you Alpha. Until you can remember, is this acceptable?" the Alpha construct appeared silent for a moment before it continued. "yes. that is acceptable. I'm sorry. Where is this. Where am I?" -- Note. those details are still classified, as open as the government is now, that still cant be revealed -- "We set up a chamber that housed you while unconscious. Until anything else can be established, I think we'll have to house you there." "I... yes, ok. I will begin diagnosis in private."

After that, Alpha was brought back to the chamber in lockdown where it was housed previously. I can't believe we're doing this, but we're shuffling staff lodgings so that there is an empty room for that thing. Of course, security measures are being installed, but nobody besides tech and administrators have the specifics. God knows where this is going to lead, but there's no stopping now.

screams were heard from alpha's chamber two nights ago. When security got there, apparently the thing had already flipped over everything it could find to form a barricade. From what the security staff could hear, it was just repeating "hull breach" "hostiles incoming" some basic military jargon. After a few hours they heard a few whirring noises. and Alpha finally stopped screaming. They finally got through the impromptu barricade and found the thing curled up in the corner shivering. Staff reported hollow noises coming from it -- its probably what equates to crying for it. I wonder if these human behaviors are the original programming set into the automaton, or if it's first contact with us in the operating theater affected its behavior. Anyway, the staff says that it

A: I saw what else you're keeping in lock-down. I would feel safer if I could have my armor back in my possession.
M-4: request denied at this time
A: you aren't allowed to do that. You can't simply take the issued gear of an officer of the spiral legion.
M-3: We owe nothing to you, and you owe very much to us, Subject Alpha.
A: I am not your subject, I am not an experiment. My name is Stroizz, and again, I want my armor back.
M-2: denied, you are to follow your designated tag while in this facility
A: There won't be any getting through to you will there... Where is my shuttle, anyway
M-4: you seem to be changing topics quite quickly subject alpha
A: yes, but I suspect you've seen the standard weaponry that is kept within the shuttle, and can't get it out. So how about a deal.
M-5: and this deal would be...
A: I get my armor, and I will release a weapon from that shuttle for you to 'study'.
M-4: you say one, what about the other two weapons within the pod
A: I don't see a reason to remove them. I'm sure they'll be useful eventually.
M-2: What would stop us from simply saying 'no'? what makes you think we would accept such terms
A: It isn't just my armor that you've got locked up. that slime in lockdown, that took down our whole ship. I don't think you captured that without major casualties to yourselves or whoever it is you send out to do your dirty work. and you kept that thing alive. You aren't the sort of people to pass up an opportunity for research.
M-5 began to laugh
M-5: it appears he knows us well. please, alpha, allow us time to consider your... proposition

a few hours ago they agreed to the terms. So now my team has been moved from the armor project to reverse engineering a sword -- we truly do marvelous work here. It also tossed in the ability for it to work on the ship in its spare time, i.e. whenever we aren't running tests on it. I don't trust him, it just feels like he's too compliant with all of this, any humanoid subjects in the past have at least tried escape by now. At least administrators were smart enough to keep guards on him while its at the pod.

You're holding my attention pretty steadily.

I love this kind of storytelling. No need to wrap this up. :)
