I have a few 4* weapons, and one set of four star armor, and I was wondering what to upgrade first and what to upgrade some stuff to. The equips I have are:

Miracle Hood (uv shock med)
Miracle cloak

Owlite shield

Grand Flourish
Avenger (construct uv high)
Acended calibur (gremlin uv low)

I have read threads about the magic series, but i was wondering what to upgrade it to, keeping in mind that I did not want to negate my shock uv and also keeping in mind that I might get skolver armor soon after, and that I hate fiends. Also, I do understand that for weapons I own, getting wolver would have probably made more sense, but it looked a bit overused when I started and I kinda thought it looked silly... (yes, I picked my armor based off of prettiness, and I don't feel like changing now, as it is already 4*).
Also, I am F2P so I was wondering whether I should even upgrade some things. If it seems as if somethings are A waste of cr to upgrade, could someone pleas tell me.
Thanks :3

Divine Veil is pretty popular

Divine Veil is pretty popular combined with a skolver cloak. You'd get fiend damage bonus as well as defense from shadow, too. If you're only getting one piece divine, it should be the hood since it's the only one that gives the fiend bonus.

Starting with the shield is a pretty good idea. 4* weapons are up to snuff, 4* shields aren't.

Thanks

Thanks, okay so i think I'll upgrade my helm to a Divine veil, but should I upgrade my armor to grey feather, or chaos (because some of the most important resists will be neutralized right?...).

such planning is good to do early

You want to plan your set long before you get to the 4-star stage. I recommend that people read the wiki, select the 5-star loadout they want, and only then look back in the alchemy paths, to figure out how to get it.

Even though you are 4-star, it is not too late to change your alchemy paths. More than half of the cost of making a 5-star item comes in the final upgrade from 4-star to 5-star. Yes, it's that expensive. So don't throw good money after bad.

Lots of people choose their armor based on cosmetics. But keep in mind that you can wear a costume over your real armor. So this is no reason not to get ideal armor.

Divine and Grey Feather are strong defensive armors. In Tier 3, even the most defensive armor lets through tons of damage. So you can't rely on your armor; you have to dodge and kill quickly. For this reason, most players select armor that gives strong offensive bonuses. The Chaos upgrade would give you stronger offense. As Zeddy said, Divine Veil with Skolver Coat is one of the best general-purpose sets.

In your swords, you should forget about your Calibur, and replace it with a shadow sword. You might find my sword guide useful.

I have not answered your specific question about the order in which to upgrade. That's because the order doesn't matter much. But I would probably pick Skolver Coat (because you're nowhere near it yet) and Divine Veil (to get some shadow protection).

I question the "offense > defence" wisdom.

When it comes to damage resistance, sure. But status? Needless to say, someone who never gets hits will always prefer offence, but for the average players, I dare say fire or shock protection is more important than some extra sword damage.

Therefore, although I concur re: Veil, I'd recommend a Grey Feather Mantle next, assuming you (Bachi) are somewhat prone to getting hit. That will make an excellent FSC set.

I don't really see an immediate need for pierce. Pierce enemies are easy. You'd be better off getting a Shadow set next.

Question

I have a question its, why are you saying he should get a grey feather mantle where at FSC is the same as Vog without the ASI with swords? So I think he should get all Divine because it has fire and shadow defense which makes it the best set for FSC.

is this a troll?

I think he should get all Divine because it has fire and shadow defense which makes it the best set for FSC.

An all-Divine set has no normal protection. Normal protection is almost always desirable. In particular, Vanaduke and trojans deal a lot of normal damage. Going into FSC without normal protection is a really bad idea (unless you're an expert).

But I do agree that a swordsman should get Vog Cub instead of Grey Feather. The sword bonus outweighs the shock protection, I think, although Derpules' viewpoint is also reasonable.

I agree re: Vog.

If it were just a matter of one or the other, I'd agree that Vog is better. But bearing in mind that the OP is on a budget, the question is not which is better, but which is better for the cost. Is it worth making a fresh 5* for Sword ASI Med? If it were sword damage, I might (okay, I would) say yes. But for ASI, I don't think so. Even an unimproved DA is quick enough vs. zombies.

The Shock is really just a bonus, albeit a very significant one for those levels where it comes into play.

Throw in the fact that everyone wants costumes eventually, and Grey Feather looks (IMO) rather good, and the decision (for me) is sealed.

I also want to emphasise that my original post was more concerned with the question of GFM vs. Chaos Cowl--where I think the gulf (for the average player) is even wider, although the cost gap doesn't exist there--and GFM vs Skolver, which I'd be against for the reason of being non-FSC-viable.

Your viewpoint is reasonable too, of course.

Hmmm

I think zeddy is right in saying that you should upgrade your shield first. I also upgraded my shield to 5* before anything
else. A divine veil is always a good idea if you are going to do FSC runs. (no normal defence meh :3) maybe get a VOG cub coat instead of a chaos cloak or the mantles and that will help you with ASI for you avenger and elemental defence is good against many different monster families.
So I think upgrade your defences first unless you are really eager to get one of your swords. But the last thing you need to upgrade is your grand flourish. It is pretty much the same as the final flourish so leave that till last. Ok that's all, if you have any other questions feel free to mail me, my in game name is Darkemo ;D

"pretty much the same"

Well, yeah, except for doing a lot more damage once heated. Which is kind of the whole point of (most) weapons. XP
