Everytime I want to report somebody, I keep having to type /report. How about in the chat, you can click there name and there will be options like Report, Ignore, tell, etc! When you click another name, the last person you clicked in the chat with options will close and will move on to the next person. I wish I can post a picture, but I can't on the forums.

You click their name on the chat and there are like basic options. So the top 3 would be Report, tell and ignore. Then there will be more. Sometimes when you can't pronounce their name it would keep saying invalid name. Heres a example:

Players Name: PlayeeeeeeeerMe
You type: playeeeeer

So its easier to do something to other players.

Exactly how many times do you want to report that requires such a convenient way to report them? I mean, if you're in haven and someone is bothering you on chat, just switch havens or ignore them. And if they're in your party on a dive, clicking on their portrait will give you the complain option. And if they are constantly spamming you, you have that many more chances to get their name right on the report.

Some of them use extremely long and hard/impossible to type names, and they keep shuffling about so you can't easily click on them. Or they are hiding off-screen sending you tells.

This feature can be also used for ignore, if you feel reporting being made too convenient would give GMs too much work load. The report function will always prompt that dialog to make you think again anyway.

A more convenient and user-friendly UI? I'd never say no.

Very good statement and true.

Some of them shuffle letters and causes trouble. They are called trolls. They try to get away from it. I mean if they troll you by spamming them and they have a name with spam, then you just click their name in the chat.

Some also troll you badly, making a escape to make you feel very bad. That's why when they switch Havens and get away from the trouble, you can still report them by clicking their name in the chat. Now there cannot be any escape once somebody starts trouble.

Honk

Take screenshots, submit a real report through a system you should be intelligent enough to find if it is a significant issue, then do some homework: why is someone trolling you? Have you been particularly silly? Are you not wearing pants? If you have a screenshot all you have to do is copy down the name and block them, then use that screenshot in your report as evidence. Record the time and date of the event as close as possible and take several screenshots, especially if there is more text than fits in a single screenshot. If the offense is public ask others nearby to take screenshots as well to serve as witnesses. If the coward only uses private messages share the screenshots with others.

Of course, if you did something horribly stupid to deserve it then you have no argument.

Evidence is never the problem

Evidence is never the problem here, Luguiru. Game Masters have access to the chat logs. As long as you file the complaint right away, GMs will be able to lock on to the time period and see everything being said and done.

The problem here is the INTERFACE. Like your name, for example. If you keep sending me tells while you are not on my screen, I can't click on you to get a popup menu to ignore you. I can't use Friends List because you are not in it.

The only option I have is to type your name in full. I may have typed Luguriu or Luguru instead of instead of Luguiru. There may even be a knight with the mistyped name.

Your name is simple. But I think you've seen what kind of names some players choose. A long series of meaningless alphabets, which are very annoying to type. You may even begin to think that they chose such names just to troll.

Instead the INTERFACE can be more user-friendly and allow us to click on the names in chat log, to pop up the same popup menu as if you clicked on a player. You could use it to ignore, complain, as well as inspect, tell and invite.

This suggestion is THAT simple. No need to divert attention onto anything else inappropriate, like questioning the OP's integrity.

Who would string together so many letters in a name?!?!

I also see no reason to not update UI when possible, as long as it isn't cluttering the interface, which this one is not because you have to place your cursor over their name in chat. I wouldn't even be opposed to making an option to activate/deactivate the feature.

People that move by pointing the mouse may get bothered with it. So yeah, it should get locked with a key press (Q)

This. It should be done, though I do have to slightly side with demonics and say that it isn't that urgent.

Luguiru GM's don't want screenshots, most websites, including this one, that record server logs don't even want screenys unless it's of a bug.

It feels more and more like

It feels more and more like rejecting suggestions just to reject them. Self-appointed suggestion forum patrol, guarding OOO against "unnecessary" workloads.

Now that wasn't so hard.
