Because it just fits the gun. This is more or less of a "why not" suggestion. Polaris is superior and Supernova feels somewhat underpowered. I'll even test the difference in power of the two guns. With no UVs or damage increase trinkets.

I'm personally ok with Stun

I'm personally ok with Stun too, but it just need a little something more. It's like the child that gets hand-me-downs instead a real birthday present. I really dig it's design, I just wished it was a bit more on level with Polaris.

You have heard it before,

You have heard it before, many times, Aplauses.
And the answer to why not is because it's a normal damage variant of another weapon, and thus does more damage to 4/6 families in exchange for the specialized damage and status of it's cousin. In any rate, if you've actually used Supernova, you'd see that it does plenty of damage and has much more efficient knockback than Polaris due to the lack of knockback-disrupting Shock.

so why not stun?

I need an answer...

Stun gives it more knockback and gets oponents stun making it harder for the oponent to dodge xD

Processing Thoughts of You Always

Stun is bugged and counterproductive in some instances.
Laughing faces at the end of every post are creepy.

Although having a gun that slows down the rate of fire for turrets would make sense, when stunned, opponents may complete their attack animation early, thus making the turret shutdown ability of the line extremely counterproductive. No stun, please. Either that or fix the status first.

Fire... to be honest, I don't really see a problem with this, other than the fact that the Pulsar lines are meant to be utility rather than damage guns. That's more of a personal issue, though. I also suspect that if you added fire status to the Supernova line, you would see a helluva lot more Supernova spam on everything when you joined PUGs due to the rise in popularity. This is a Very Bad Thing.

And yes, we have heard this idea before. I don't think it got all that much popularity then, but the person who put it across was particularly obnoxious about it and wanted the gun to do epic amounts of elemental damage, making it even more OP than it originally was.

Supernova is like a rocket launcher

Play Soldier in TF2. Learn how to juggle. Come back here and try Supernova.

Amazing.

Appreciate the feedback

I'm actually doing RT runs to get the starter gun for the Supernova/Polaris line. If what Luguiru says is true, this will be good day in Russia.
