You know, playing spiral knights is fun, but there's always ways to improve it, so I thought of a lot of popular rpgs, and realized spiral knights is missing on lances and axes, I would love holding a wicked spear that has shock, or a flaming axe, I hope other players agree with me, feel free to speak your thoughts on this matter.
I also think it would be nice if you could attack whith your shield on, but your shield quickly deactivates during the attack, then re-shields.
If you bothered to use the search function you would have found this and a few attempts to create a lance with their responses. To save you the trouble of doing something which you should have done earlier, lances would either combine the Flourish and Troika mechanics or merely be reskins; otherwise it would be overpowered.
I am going to pretend I am not upset that you give no details for how the weapon works.

I see nobody has responded to the shield idea, Luguiru I don't think SK needs something from NWN the Leviathan blade is practically a bastard sword already, gauntlets would be a nice costume piece, or some robo-first... Here's how the lance would work:
It would be fast, and at 1,2 and 3 stars it would deal piercing damage. at 4 and 5 stars, It would also do elemental damage and have medium chance of low stun at 4 stars, then medium chance of medium stun at 5 stars. The weapon would be fast, not focused on strength and the attack pattern would be this: a spin around slash to right, then a spinning backslash to the left, and a short lunge forward for the final part. The charge would work like the way slag guards attack, a charge forward with lance straight and off to the side. It would look like a knight's lance, with the vamplate and shaft painted a cool silver, and the truncheon painted gold with a black cloth wrapped around it, and knight-colored light faintly glowing from the open part of the vamplate.
Plenty suggestions for lances and axes and various medieval-ish weaponry already.
