The game was updating fine up until 70% complete... As of now it has 386:42 mins remaining. Whats happening? Do I need to reinstall?

This has been happening to me for the past five updates. It's rather frustrating, especially since a friend wanted to do UFSC with me around now. :/
By any chance, do you run Java from a Windows computer?

That's odd. I personally run Java from Windows, but apparently a few friends of mine who run Java from Macs have no problem.
Hope this problem gets fixed soon :/

I did something that fixed it
I did something that fixed it for me and a friend.
If you're on steam close the update,go into your library, right click on SK->properties->local files tab->verify integrity of game cache. After it's done it should open SK directly, no update.

Steam is like an X-fire or MSN, but there is more to it, you can buy and chat, and of coarse run games. Its a program designed for gamers by gamers. At least that is what I have herd. I do not use steam atm since I see no reason too, but my brother uses it all the time. Now back the the Issue! i came across that issue about 7 months ago, what happens (from what I know) is your download client gets interrupted and it cancels itself, sadly leaving you with a never ending stream of a download going no where. It could also maybe be an internal malfunction in the program itself that is on your computer, so I would recommend installing the game, and if that doesn't work, wait awhile and try again to let the clients refresh. My older brother is a game designer so I know a little bit about these games but I am unsure for this one, so I'm only throwing out a possible explanation, not fact. Hope I help in any way :) and have a great day!

Verifying the game cache worked just fine for me...in fact, it seemed to trigger the rest of the update downloading from within Steam itself, instead of the SK client. Either way, it's lookin' good now. :D

Linux here
I'm running SuSe Linux and everything seems to be running smoothly here. The problems gotta be client sided. Try reinstalling java as well as the game.
