Still cannot download the patch....

HELP!!!!
I have been playing SK since April of 2011 and it runs fine on my computer.
About 3 or 4 patches ago, the patches started to take forever to download!
They would normally patch on wednesday, so like everyone else, i would wait till the server reset, then hit "Play" on the website and let the files download, but they would stop at around 70% and just sit there stuck... I would try uninstalling then reinstalling, updating Java, trying different browsers, and all to no avail... I would wait a few hours and try again, still nothing. Stuck at 70%.
Even the next day, (20 hrs later or so) I would try again and nope.... still stuck at 70%.

So now again, i am having the same problem... It's been about 20 hrs since the patch went live, and the download still shows 70%....
What do I do??????

Even trying to direct download the game, it gets stuck and stops....

PLEASE help.

You have to wait. There is no way to fix this. Also you hit the wrong time, new patch was released after that one which messed up what you thought was the initial patching, making it slow since errybody is D/Ling it.

Same thing on Kongregate

Same thing on Kongregate client (official update good just after update). Stuck at 74% and time rising

Same time for current and yesterday update. About 202 minutes left now...Last patch got clos to 900 minutes left. Guess all we have to do is wait.

This happened to me

This happened to me yesterday. If there is a patch going on wait until you see something new on the Spiral Knights screen page and that means it's updated and you can play again, that's what happened to me.

try this

Two simple solutions that have worked for me in updates past.

#1, mace sure you have all current updates installed. With macbooks, its seems there are new installs every monday. I'm usually in a hurry on mondays, and choose "not now." Whenever i have trouble logging into, or downloading a new patch, usually going and installing those upgrades i have put off is a quick and easy fix.

#2, there have been a few times where i had to switch how i load the game. For aobut 1 yr I always clicked the SK icon on my desktop, no prob. For whatever reason, about a month ago its stopped DL'ing from there!?!?. So i tried coming to the sk homepage and clicking on the the "play" button and it loaded just fine from there. Did this for the last 2 months, then with this latest updated i got to about 70-75% and stalled out each time. So i clicked on my desktop icon and DL'd all the data right quick and i'm off and running.

Anything more in depth than that, and i get frustrated, and close my eyes and mash buttons until it works again.

I usually just go do something else and idly restart the patch.

I have since been able to get in game. Got in on Thursday evening... after about 30 hrs of craziness lol...
I had been trying ever hour or so to download and to no avail...
Then like Rommil said, i used the shortcut on my desktop and it downloaded and worked fine.. so weird lol
