Yes, It has been suggested many times.
I suggest:
Bombastic gets pierce,
Mad gets shadow,
Mercurial and Volcanic stays elemental.

@little-juances, Max damage UVs are approximately equal to the defenses of a two star armor. would trust a wolves coat to protect you from being impaled by a toxilargo?

@Little-Juances: And it still puts a bomber at a significant disadvantage. Even if you could get the equivalent of 5* armor & helm with UVs and trinkets, that means you're using up slots that gunners and swordsmen could use for other things if they wanted, like offensive buffs.
Seriously, this seems like game play balance 101; if swordsmen and gunners can pick armors that specialize in piercing, shadow, or elemental defense while still buffing their respective weapons, then why should bombers be subjected to only having elemental specialized armors?

I know it's been beaten to death but it doesn't make any difference how many people say it if it never happens. I'd say the merc demo set should be piercing.. but that means that it would be harder to get for some people. Piercing is more early game then shadow is -points at snarby coat- So don't bring that up.
