since emberlighters are used to light candles, why not use them to directly disperse grimalkins? i shall elaborate: say you are near an emberlight spawner, but unable to get to a candle in time. you could just throw the emberlight at a grimalkin and a flash of light makes it disappear for an extremely short period, one or two seconds (grimalkins appear after three seconds in the dark).
keep in mind this cannot be an area of effect. it should only affect one grimalkin at any given time. another suggestion is that you cannot use this on the same grimalkin twice for an extended period (say thirty seconds). the best way to explain this would be that the grimalkin gets 'angry' and will chase you directly until you find a lit area.
