The following perfectly innocuous words or phrases are blocked by the english chat filter as of this writing. In at least one case, the implication of adding a chat filter makes the parable of a certain dutch boy sound WAY dirtier than it is.

- Brochure
- Elaphure (an extinct species of deer; same 4-letter problem as above. However, bisulphuret is ok: the problem only seems to occur when **** is at the start or end of a word)
- Magna cum laude
- Dike (which is a mechanism for water control; the perjorative has a different spelling as far as I know)
- Homo sapiens
- *Piss*ant (rude, but arguably not bannable)

The wiki also lists several words that are supposedly filtered, but aren't. (pine, tabernacle, sacrament, etc) Fortunately, we are able to say grape now.

Its worse in spanish. Small differences between spain and L America leads to awkwardness and a poor choice of bad words.

We cant say 'stupid' but we have the equivalent of 'f**k' or a lady's private parts unfiltered. >:|

Magna cum laude... are you

Magna cum laude... are you serious? It should be obvious why this is filtered...

Anyway, workaround: turn off filter.

There is one word that I know of which is filtered completely in the game (even with the filter off), and I don't know why. I mean, without the filter I figure anything goes right? Wrong. Then people just put spaces in it as usual to bypass that...

After the most recent few patches, words like brochure are still filtered.

And heatsurge... Individually, the word makes sense to filter. But my point is that totally legitimate and kid-friendly uses of the word exist. Filtering "magna cum laude" for the word in the middle is as silly as filtering "grape" for the word at the end.
