Heart of Ice equips (solo)?

I'm wondering what people are bringing to Heart of Ice while soloing. I've only played it once, but it seems pretty annoying.

This is my current HoI equipment:

Final Flourish
Polaris
Blitz Needle
Dark Briar Barrage

Snarbolax Cap
Deadshot Mantle
Dread Skelly Shield
Elite Quick Strike Module
Elite Bomb Focus Module

Other weapons I'm considering are the Warmaster Rocket Hammer (for howlitzers and Trojans if I don't bring Blitz), Voltaic Tempest, Ash of Agni, and Venom Veiler. I'm considering crafting a Snarbolax Coat with either poison high or freeze high for this mission.

Does anyone know what you need to resist the moving ice masks? Is it still a bit more than 2 maxes?

I recommend: Full

I recommend:
Full Snarby
Dread Skelly Shield
BTB/FF (but you may want the BTB charge sometimes on small clusters in corners)
Supernova
Callahan
Blitz
Elite Slash
Penta or Elite Trueshot

There's no poison in there. You can't resist them with any rational amount of added defense, just shield. Warhammer isn't safe enough.

I dont thnk bombs are a good

I dont thnk bombs are a good idea unless you're a dedicated bomber or have UVs. Specially with damage bombs and devilites. Focus on improving those guns. (or hearth pendant)

I'd suggest full Snarbolax

I'd suggest full Snarbolax armor (plus matching sword and bomb), with a blitz needle for ranged/Trojan damage. In the shield slot, my crest of Almire broke very quickly under freeze attacks; I'd recommend dread skelly instead.

Don't use the 5* piercing bomb in every situation, but there were a few open rooms where it was a godsend.

solo trojans

When I solo FSC, I prefer FF/BTB over Blitz Needle for dealing with trojans. Assuming that you understand their AI, it kills them quite reliably and safely. I haven't soloed Heart of Ice, but maybe the same reasoning applies.

I'm considering poison high

I'm considering poison high uv on my snarb coat because I like stacking on top of inherent status resists for easy armor/helm matching, not because I think it's useful in the level. I already have freeze max on my snarb cap. It depends on when I craft my Shadowsun set.
Also, I really am not going to be using WRH on devilites. At most, I'll use it on silkwings out of all fiends. It's quite safe of a weapon if you only do swing-dash-shield.

I have all 5* bombs except BAB. I'm simply considering which one to bring in my 4th slot, and I won't spam it. I think that if it burns for full duration, AoA might do more damage than DBB. VT is also good because shock means less time the devilites are throwing stuff at me as I'm polaris strafing. I probably won't bring a Venom Veiler. I'm still heating my Dark Briar Barrage, but judging by the damage tables fire deals equal damage at 6 ticks, and the initial detonation deals about 3 ticks worth of damage.

Some input from someone who also has every bomb except one

and the initial detonation deals about 3 ticks worth of damage.

The initial detonation is not to be considered entirely useless; you can hit a good chunk of constructs, slimes or zombies with it if they're chasing you in an arena.

For devilites though? It might as well not exist. The blast is far too small to hit a devilite with. Take this into consideration when choosing your bomb. Also consider that a devil on fire is harder to predict since you can't see their animations through the flames.

My loadout is similar to the

My loadout is similar to the one you use Halifix:

Snarbolax Coat
Snarbolax Cap
Dread Skelly Shield

Final Flourish
Polaris
Dark Briar Barrage
Blitz Needle

Penta-Heart Pendant
Penta-Heart Pendant

Today, I soloed Heart of Ice with this loadout and died twice (not the best result, but not terrible). My previous best in the test server was 4 deaths or something. I probably could have avoided 1 death if I had activated the ghost block on the second depth that gives access to those heart boxes. =/

I really like using Dark Briar Barrage when I'm being attacked simultaneously by devilites/wolvers and those frozen soul things.
