Ready rooms are so passé! We need a slick pad in Haven to put our arsenals, not some half-assed junk pod we call a "ready room". Get your house on bro!

Stupid slang aside, houses are an idea that have been suggested time and time again. Most of us say it would ruin the game, others support. I'm on the middle of the fence.

Some friends of mine IRL, who also play SK, were brainstorming a housing idea. We imagined a private, custom version of Guildhalls. We came out with this:

Shanty of snipes
Haven Houses can be purchased for 25k (same price as a 5* recipe). The interior resembles the outside color scheme, just--inside.

Knights are given some items to customize their homes at first (pod, uplink, table, chair, stuff like Bechamels shop, etc). Knights can purchase additional house items for their Haven Houses through crown sinks (the game needs some more crown sinks IMO). They're cosmetic, like Accessories. A vendor in Haven sells them. (Rudkin?)

A more eternal stay
A Moorcroft Hotel Room is worth 10k. They resemble a Candlestick Keep (CSK). In order to visit them, you must pay the elevator fee and descend to Moorcroft.

Moorcroft Hotel Rooms will be smaller than Haven Houses, and are only available to T2 and up. They come with the bonus of purchasing Undead/Fiend related stuff like you would find in a CSK. The items are cheaper, but there are less of them. A vendor in Moorcroft sells them. (Concierge zombie?)

Emberlights in the dark
Emberlight houses can be purchased for 10k, like the Moorcroft Hotel Rooms. They resemble a room in the ICMF interior. You must also pay an elevator fee to visit them.

Mechanical/Gremlin gear can be purchased for your house from an Emberlight vendor. (Hooded gremlin guy?)

Like this idea? Don't like it? Have feedback? Post below.

I don't know, honestly...

I really don't know wether housing is a good idea in this game. It just doesn't feel right to me... though that's all personal opinion.

However, IF we really are going to have houses, then houses should be a great privileg. Not something everyone could have. The price for a 5*-recipe seems too cheap to me. We are comparing a house to a small piece of paper(is it paper?) full of information here(granted, it's a useful piece of paper, but still).

I would at the very least(if not higher) quadruple the price for a haven house(100k, now that's an amount for a house. Still nothing compared to featured auctions, but still quite a sum), and make the decoration eat extraordinary amounts of crowns, and also quite a bit materials for some(we need to drain that giant pool. I think Fehzor had an idea that involved advanced gate construction with the help of craploads of materials, but well, decoration for houses might do part of the job, too).
Houses shouldn't be something everyone can afford after farming a boss mission a little bit. Houses are... well, houses, and should be obscenely expensive in comparison to other things.

But that was just a thought. I'm still not sure wether I should like this or not.

Thematically, housing can

Thematically, housing can never work. There's the whole "we're still refugees leeching off the kindness of the Strangers" bit standing in the way for Haven, Moorcroft it a motel governed by and solely for use by the undead (which we aren't), and Emberlight is a tiny colony of Gremlin outcasts, who literally can't expand much because it would put their lives in danger. If you want a OOO game with housing, go play Puzzle Pirates.

Uhm... don't we have that already

in a watered down version called 'the good-for-nothing Guid Hall'?

lol u
didnt it hit you that they could progress the story and justify adding housing? and anyway, how do you explain guildhalls? more random poo poo? xDDDD

housing would be awesome to sink crowns and wouldant harm any1 so why be against it

just so u can be against?

if after the guild hall updates housing wont make sense to you then you will have to hit yourself with a brick

The reason we don't have houses is because they want to have all the players be in near proximity to each other and interact with each other. If everyone had houses, Haven would be a lot emptier.

Edit: Some other things I wanted to mention. My understanding is that in beta you could hang out in the subtowns but they removed that functionality for the same reason we don't have houses. it was splitting the player-base apart leaving all the new players in Haven while the experienced players hung out in Emberlight.

left field right feild WITCH SIDE WILL I TA~a~Ak3??

alright this will be a hard one to think over BUT iv found witch team im batting for, it has to be the one that isn't actialy playing because they dont actauly care. so that sums up my nutreal opion on it, if you could lets say use material found in in THE ACTUAL GAME part of the game FROM KILLING MOBS could build mist intake amplifiers (they would increase your mist energy build rate but you only can harvest it by actually visiting your house and interacting with said mist gather.[posibly have the mist gathering station things gather faster if your in the house?] ) that would be he only reason i would go to my house unless we could raise tamed mobs there for some crazy reason, id want a mewkat :3

(THIS POST NOW SHALL BRING APONE A ONSLAUGHT OF "what i want to have as a ingame pet post" FEAR MY POWER OF POSTING)

My personal preference would

My personal preference would just be to update the guildhalls into something that isn't so... useless. Houses don't really fit the theme of the game, but we could go places with the guildhalls.
