SUMMARY:
The Sheathed Blade sword line would be a new 7-part line of swords which behave differently than all others. The first sword in the line is the Sheathed Blade, and resembles a Katana, but has a very blocky and industrial looking metal sheath it slides into while not being slashed with at the moment. It starts at 3 stars, flows into three different lines, each extending to 5 stars. The first sword in the line, the sheathed blade, is obtained as a reward for 20 bark modules. It's description is as follows:
"A blade of gremlin design for use by elite forces. It's original, unmodified design is not of compatible with gremlin manufacturing, and is believed that it may be of alien origin."
The sword is does a high amount of normal damage, and offers no status effect, but has a swing rate slightly higher than the equivlant sword of the flourish line, but this does not mean it can attack rapidly. It also has a low charge time boost which upgrades to medium after level 5. Charge time is very important for this sword. You see, the way it works is such: the blade remains sheathed until it is fully charged, at which point it will be ready for use. By scrolling out of the weapon once it is charged, the player will not expend this charge and can store it for use later. The charge attack of the blade is the only attack the blade has. This makes the blade extremely good at dealing short, very powerful bursts of damage. The charge attack itself is a blisteringly fast 90 degree swing in front of the player which deals massive damage and knockback. Like all other 3 star items, this sword is available to upgrade at level 5.
The first option the player has is the Honed Edge upgrade. This does an even larger amount of pure piercing damage, inflicts stun, and has a medium charge time reduction which upgrades to high after level 5. The blade appears the same as the sheathed edge with the exception of a shiny more sleek sheath and cutting edge. The Honed Edge upgrades to the Razor's Edge which appears larger and shinier and has a very streamlined, sleeker sheath. The Razor's Edge deals the most piercing damage of any weapon in a single hit, and has a high charge time reduction which upgrades to very high at level 5. It also inflicts a heavier stun and knockback on the player.
The second line the player can choose from is the Blighted Blade. This sword, stat wise, is the shadow-poison version of the Honed Edge. It appears to be a black metal blade with a green glowing streak running up it's edge. It has a matching carbon black-green color schemed sheath. It upgrades to the Epidemic Edge which follows the same pattern as the Honed Edge line, and appears to be a larger, shinier version of the Blighed Blade and has a more vibrant, pulsating green streak, and a sleaker sheath.
The final line is the Sheathed Sealer. This is an elemental-curse blade which is the only weapon in the game other than the Faust line which can inflict curse, and is the only sword to be able to do it while not having a chance to curse the user. It is a sterling silver blade with glowing reddish purple runes running up it's sides and a sheath which appears to be made of stone and has glowing runes covering it's side. It upgrades to a sword named Judgement which follows the same patterns as above. It appears larger, shinier, has more vibrant runes, but has one exception to the regular pattern in that Judgement retains an old blocky stone like sheath.
DESCRIPTIONS:
Honed Edge - A sword machined with the best gremlin technology. It has an edge which is rumored to be so sharp that it is able to slice paper edgewise.
Razor's Edge - A sword with a blade made of industrial diamonds cut on a nano-scale. This blade is so sharp that you could shave with it.
Blighted Blade - A blade made of Shadow Steel which has been implanted with a powerful neurotoxin. It's sheath produces the toxin which is injected into the blade when sheathed, which the will go into the blade's unfortunate victim.
Epidemic Edge - Refined Shadow Steel combined with toxin extracted from virulisks make this a powerful blade indeed. It is capable of killing many enemies in a single blow, and those that do not die immediately collapse seconds later from the neurotoxin.
Sheathed Sealer - A blade made to strike down ghouls and inflict upon them the curses they inflict upon mortals. This blade is a proven design used by many elite knights in undead heavy areas across the spiral order's territory.
Judgement - A blade said to have been originally forged by renegade divinities and demons to overthrow the gods. The only thing stopping the blade from cursing it's master is the ancient sheath covered in the most powerful sealing runes known to the Spiral Order.
USES: Due to it's single shot nature, it is not an ideal weapon for lockdown. However, it can be very useful in the clockworks as it provides unique damage-status effect matchups. This weapon stands out from the slow attacking swords such as the Troika and Sealed Sword lines in that the sword itself is very fast, but must be charged to full power for use. This makes it so that the player can make quick counter attacks with a charged attack, then go back to shielding without fear of being damaged while attacking.
By scrolling out of the weapon once it is charged, the player will not expend this charge and can store it for use later.
Exactly how can he/she/we use it?
Charge time is very important for this sword. You see, the way it works is such: the blade remains sheathed until it is fully charged, at which point it will be ready for use.
What do you mean by, "the blade remains sheathed until it is fully charged, at which point it will be ready for use."? Will it break if it is sheathed?(Although durability of swords are nothing in this game...)
