Catalyzer design change

Make catalyzer & derived charge & normal shots opposite. I.e. normal shots now don't hit, but envelop into explosive field, but charged hits & detonate this field. Also field must look not as orbitting shots, but as large shoot, hanging around enemy (like shock-effect). It's stacking to 3. Blast can damage around, direction's depending on stacking amount. 1 - center of enemy. 2 - same direction, from where charged shot was fired. 3 - opposite direction, of that, from where it was fired. Stacking also some increases damage.

It'll be harder to use. What if you just wanted to pull some quick shots on that weakened enemy.
Granted catalyzer arent exactly quick, but you're removing their ability to deal any damage unless they charge. They arent bombs.

i have to agree that catalyzer needs some bufffering as a gun. it's not that u cant use it as it is, it is just a really slow process of stacking the monster with orbs and trying to blow it up when ur teamates might destroy the monster u stacked before u get to detonate it.

I agree with Juances re:

I agree with Juances re: quick shots, as one of the biggest reasons I love my Cat so is that both the normal and charged attacks are useful. I also don't like the idea of limiting the stacking or making the mechanics any more complicated or hard for newbies to learn than necessary.

+1 emphatically to envelopment, though! The current orbiting graphic sometimes makes it hard to see exactly which monsters are globbed when their movement is not all nice and neat. The orbiting allows control over direction of blasting, though in actual pracice in a non-controlled environment it's effectively chaotic.

edit: I don't think the Catalyser needs buffing, I find it tears through monsters very fast for the required exposure. I don't need to stack lots of charges at all to get luxurious DPS in most cases, and where charging is too slow the weapon still feels similar to the Blaster damage-wise.

Current design is perfectly fine. I don't want to be charging just to fire off a damaging shot.
