I was wondering what gun would go best with my melee weapons which are the twisted snarble barb and the nightblade. Thanks.
Best gun for a swordsman
With your items, you'd be best off with a normal or elemental gun. Polaris is a very popular one, but Argent Peacemaker is fairly common as well. Valiance is a very well rounded gun that's good for just about everything. The rest of them of I don't really feel are conducive to someone who's primarily a swordsman.
...Dukeplatypus fails to mention the option of Supernova. I've also found the various elemental Drivers to make decent sidearms as well, although they take a little more skill to use effectively.
AP and Valiance are easiest to use effectively. Supernova and Polaris will generate infinite rage if you spam them indiscriminately in parties. Drivers are good for clearing large hordes of monsters, and are able to deal large amounts of damage to turrets using internal ricochets - however, this trick takes some skill to use, and can be unreliable at times.
If you only intend to use the gun at range, then supernova and polaris are both good ideas (provided you don't accidentally kill anyone in your party with them). If you want a gun that will work at any range, valiance and AP are much better choices. Drivers are workable as well, but as Aureate said, they take more skill to use effectively than valiance or supernova/polaris.
Swordsmans usually bring Antigua lines or Pulsar lines along with them. It's a first start they can get used to.
Alchemer shot lines are optional in some ways as the range is SHORTER, however considering it's charge attack, it can deal great damage, partially a single charge shot with x4 ricochet bullets gets a single monster dead if the hitbox got lucky and registered the hit.
(alchemer shot lines may result in vary of clearing large horde of monsters)
Blaster and Pepperbox(charge attack is effective, immobilize each attack) is based on knocking back monsters. Both deal normal damage.
Magnus lines are put to considerations and depend on how will ye use it in certain conditions, because ye'll get immobilized for each shot.
Needle shots are a must get, even if it is a weapon similiar to Pepperbox and Magnus(recovery rate is faster than these autoguns), it's charge shot can deal a massive damage if target was pointblank'd.
My recommendations are getting Antigua lines/Pulsar lines and Needle Shot. That's all I can help. ;)
No, I originally intended to mention Supernova, but I removed it because I felt the massive knockback from a distance was counterintuitive to the typical swordsman tactics. People tend to use Polaris for the elemental damage, knockback, and shock. Remove 2 of the 3 and you get a still quite good gun, but outclassed by many things as a swordsman. (E.G. toothpick for fiends, Polaris for crowd control, Calibur for normal damage knockback).
i played long time with only 2 guns. blizz nedle for vanaduke and valiance for ewerything else
Thx
