An idea

One way to get some numbers on amrour would be to enter Guild Lockdown where both sides agree upon testing equipment and then do things like inflicting exactly one hit on a predesignated person. After this, the guild would agree one one team to run to all capture points and have the round end as fast as possible. Making sure the two guilds meet is pretty easy if they just use European servers where hardly any GLD goes on at all.

I imagine extensive testing on Skolver armour could be easily arranged for.

see old threads

Other people have tried such tests, and gotten similar results (40 points per bar). See for example http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/43477. But I encourage ongoing research into such matters. Keep it up.

Maybe you can tell me?

Maybe you can tell me whether the use of debugger to look at the memory space where data and instruction code of spiral knights reside is allowed? *** just looking, but not modify any bit of it (and good luck trying to modify the server-sided info.. that's quite a different story than just looking at the memory on your local system that the program is running on)

We get exact numbers by which the program uses to do actual calculation, and how calculation is done (the x86 op code).

Terms of Service

According to http://www.spiralknights.com/tos.xhtml, these activities are prohibited:

1. reproduce, distribute, publicly display or perform, translate, modify,
adapt, create derivative works from, deconstruct, reverse engineer,
decompile or disassemble in any manner Spiral Knights or any portion
thereof, including but not limited to any character, graphic, associated
software or proprietary communications protocol used by the software
or any utilities, applications, emulators or tools derived therefrom

13. modify any files or use any game hacking/altering/cheating software or
tools, including scripting or macroing software, or attempt to
disassemble the game client and/or decipher the data transmissions
between Spiral Knights' client and server. These activities will result
in immediate termination of the Player's Account and may subject you to
civil and/or criminal liability.

Your investigations are neither malicious nor self-serving. You're not trying to hurt anyone, or gain an advantage in game. You're basically just trying to learn the rules of the game and tell them to everyone. (Which I appreciate, by the way.) So maybe Three Rings wouldn't have a problem with that, but maybe they would. Tread carefully.

We're best off not dealing with it

We're best off not hearing about OOO filing a lawsuit against a player. So just leave it alone.

They wouldn't sue, but

They wouldn't sue, but numbers derived from game code would just be removed. It's completely ok to extract the numbers through detailed experimentation, such as in lockdown. Using carefully prepared load outs, it would be possible to extract a lot of information in a single 4v4 match.... Particularly if the participants all got a list of their assignments in advance (with blanks to put numbers in- google spreadsheet?)

Just be sure to account for intrinsic class bonuses as well as UVs.
