Elevator Pass Glitch/bug or just "normal"?

Hi guys,

So i'm curious about one Thing. Does the Elevator Pass let your Knight die easier? I'm not sure if this is a bug since i bought the Elevator Pass or that this is just "normal". I did some tests with my friend and realized that a 0* Equipment Knight without elevator always survive with one last HP. Despite my 5*Knight with EP don'T even care and just die.

So here 3 Tests(of Course i did some more but these 3 examples should give you a overall view about my problem)

Before starting i will list the equipment of the 2 Test Knights:
5* Knight -- Complete Skolver Set / Barbareous Thorn Shield
0* Knight -- Spiral Curlet and Spiral Sallet/ Iron Buckler

okay so here the first test:
Fire Trap depth 27 -- Both Knights with 3 Life -- 5 Deaths each one

5* Knight --> 4 immediatly deaths --> Last death with 1 hp and burning down to death
0* Knight--> survived all 5 times with 1 hp and then burned down

Second Test:
Vanaduke Floor 27 Zombie jump attack -- Both knights with 5 life -- 3 Deaths each

5* Knight --> 3 Immediatly deaths, zombie jumped -- me dead
0* Knight --> The Zombie had to give another blow after the jump each 3 times

Third Test:
Floor 27 -- Spike Trap -- 3 Life -- 5 Deaths each

5* Knight --> 3 Immediatly deaths, 2 Times survived with 1 hp and then died after another spike shot
0* Knight --> no immediatly deaths, 5 times survived the first blow with 1 hp and died after

(Some other tests 2. Another Fried did some tests with me 2 -- nearly same results.)

So i just ask you, if someone has the same problem or it's just a mere bug which i have to report?
Looking forward to your posts

Thank you

Okay guys here is a list for you in which I die immediatly(maybe you do 2 xP)

- Fire traps like the ones on Vanaduke's Floors (not the shadow fire)
- Spike Traps, located everywhere in Clockwork
- Flame thrower Puppy tower
- Zombie jump

i tested these and died immediatly, of course i had 3 - 5 health so over 1 hp
my friends didn't even die on the traps, but the zombie jump triggers immediatly deaths on my friends but less then on me
Flame Thrower: i have to test it yet with my friends

uh

It is normal, young man.

I'd rather ye do it with another Elevator Pass player, or make the 0-star knight wear 5-star equipments and compare. Pfft.

Maybe there isn't any bug,

Maybe there isn't any bug, but a stealth mechanic that allows 0* knights to get a survival chance by leaving them an HP right before death. A good way to clear it up could be to let a Proto knight get knocked by a Trojan and see whether it dies or not. I know that in my 5* gear a Trojan deals me nearly 20 bars when it hits me with its rush, so clearly a Proto knight couldn't survive that.

did the 5* wear negative fire resistance or something?

But it's the opposite, the 0* has way too much luck. Your 5* is normal.

oh okay. but it happens that

oh okay. but it happens that before buying the elevator pass i had "more Luck" in surviving. I did some other runs with my firends with 5* equipment and they also survive more often with 1 hp than me. i do not have any - resistance. I did some other expriments with my 1 wearing vog cub set and the other Nameless Gun set. Both survived more Zombie and trojan blows with 1 hp than me. Both without EP and no - resistance either and no Shadow def either, only Elemental death but that's useless against zombies and trojans.

Elevator passes have no effect on whether you die or not.

hush draggies. i creep in.

Last Patch : August 8, 2012.
Last Elevator Pass bought : August 7, 2012.
Today is August 12, 2012.

Honestly, it may be my imagination but I would guess first that this is yer luck problem. u.u

I pity yer fate! If we find ourselves dying more, as if players stated at this thread, then there is a stealth nerf for survival skills.

The default is that damage

The default is that damage normally brings you down to 1 pip of health instead of killing you if you have more, but some things bypass it. It's hard to say what exactly does and why, and it's not always even consistent. Zombie jumps do for example, but their jumps also count as two quick attacks (you can find this out if you shield and let go immediately on their landing on you, you'll take damage after the shield chink). These things you wouldn't normally notice because when you take damage you're immune very briefly afterwards so taking the first hit will invalidate the second.

@ Rangerwillx so your video

@ Rangerwillx so your video explain the "sonic mode" very well ty for that, but why do I die to Zombie Jumps then. Looking at Doreals post means that these are 2 attacks immediatly, if the jumps hit you, but why do my friends survive these blows better then me :)

@ Doreal can you list me other exceptions? i also died in one shot by flame thrower tower sometimes i survive but i often die immediatly and do not enter the "1hp mode" also in fire traps and spike traps
and if the first attack give me a "you can't take dmg for 0.5 sec" why do i die then if the jump consists of 2 attacks z.z

@ Boonswoogle
if that#s the case why do i die immediatly after some attacks, but my friends either with 0* or 5* survive Q.Q

OR maybe indeed, starter gear has more 'luck' on purpose to make the game easier for new players.

well maybe i am but the facts and also my friends show me different stories. I will test it again and according to the video above about "sonic mode". Well but i already experienced the opposite, no sonic mode at all

Speculah

If I had to make a completely wild guess that is entirely speculatively with little to no testing it would be that the way it was coded was that if you have more than one pip and take damage that would put you below zero health then your health gets set to one pip. Thus if you have 3 pips and take exactly 3 pips of damage, you die, but if you take over 3 pips of damage you have 1 pip left.

i tested it 1 minute ago on spike traps with 3 hp, 2 hp and 4 hp, died immediatly each time 100% ratio, i didn'T even survived 1 time with 1 hp

@ Adachi
so they removed the sonic mode? but why do some players get into this "last hp mode" you say you die immediatly 2 but according to the other post this "last hp resort" should be active. it can't be that the maker let some people die easier do they?

well i'm currently in spiral

well i'm currently in spiral knight online. Exactly about 2 minutes i made a test. myself with full 5* equipment die to a mere flame thrower puppy, but my friend with only 1* euipment survive all the 5 times(with 1 hp and then burned to death). so it's not a slight chance it's just that i die more often than a ... low level equipment user? i will run some tests now with me 0-2* equipment and tomorow with my friend who will wear exactly the same 5 *equipment as me.

Could it be, you do survive and die by the fire like your friend but lag or something makes it look different.

no that can't be case i do it

no that can't be case i do it 5 times in a row (with different hp but always above 1) and my friend saw it clearly 2. I already mailed a GM about that and hoping about a clear answer. But i don#t now if they do so. That's why i will do some more tests. Cause it really sucks dying so easily

Well there are some flat exceptions from what I noticed. One of them being some floor spikes (for some reason not all). If a floor spike on a certain floor is going through the last pip it should always do so for the rest of that game. I see it a lot when giving people heat, but not all the time.

@ Doreal well i did some

@ Doreal
well i did some tests and finally get some results. I started going down to vanaduke floor 25 the first 5 - 10 minutes this 1 hp mode is active but , here it comes, AFTER 10 minutes i die immediatly, but at the other side my friends "sonic mode" is still active" it's whether a bg/glitch on my character or it is really the Elevator pass. I'm really certain now, and no i#m not paranoid cause i did tons of tests now. :) I think i should write a GM or a support ticket to look into this. Or maybe some users with Elevator pass can also give me some credits, if they have the same problem.
