Think about it. It would fit perfectly. Dual joystick controls, managing inventory with the touch screen, fighting on both screens, etc. The Wii U would do great to have Spiral Knights as one of its first MMOs.

Doesn't Sega contact Nintendo

Doesn't Sega contact Nintendo when they need to create games?

Sega created Sonic games so I'm sure OOO can ask Sega to contact Nintendo to publish a game to a wii.

Does wii-U run java games?
Is there an easy way to make it cross-platform usign the same servers?
Are we gonna make a dvd release or use nintendo online store?
Does nintendo rules contain restrictions in terms of downlaod size and patches?
What about money? Will nintendo demand a share of the energy purchases or something for hosting the game?
Can the SK team guarantee mainting both pc and wii version of the game wont slow down new content development too much?

It could be done... if we had infinite money, programmers and time. But is it viable?

OOO may not be able to have

OOO may not be able to have connections with Nintendo. But Sega does.

If they didn't have connections, then I don't know how they created Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winder Games 2010. Sega and Nintendo work together on that game so Im pretty sure they have connections. The only difference is the companies being seperated.

Wii-U? I agree with Entropize. Too much lag.

It's called hacking Linux onto the Wii and putting Java on it. XD

This is a very good idea, but would probably be laggy like Entropize said.

Well,thats a laggy idea

Indeed it is. If it was somehow possible that spiral came out on the wii u(its not) then it would get extremely laggy. If its laggy, sales would go down. And if the sales go down, money gets wasted. And if money gets wasted, spiral knights close down. Boom. Total fail.

This game

Barely has enough content to justify putting it onto a console. I'm gonna say nope.

Think positive.

They can do tests with just a few people (probably just themselves) and see how it works. If it fails, then no release. But a private beta is justifiable.

Wii U?

What's Wii U?
Do you mean the Wii?
Disney has a connection with Nintendo, why not Three Rings/Sega?

Wii U is basically a handheld

Wii U is basically a handheld Wii. it probably gonna come out this December. personally im not looking forward to it. But why would SK be laggy on Wii U? cuz of the WiFi???
Reason why i dont think SK will be on big company consoles mostly because its gonna take a long process. "Hey SEGA, i know you bought us but you think you can talk to one of the biggest video game giants and ask if they could support our game?" really far fetched :/

Nintendo does not invest

Nintendo does not invest heavily in their online multiplayer infrastructure and they like to be in control of what content is there. More and more, they want online content to relate back to their Miis and other proprietary IP. Spiral Knights doesn't really belong in the world Miis and friend codes so porting this game to the Wii U is highly unlikely.

Campaign vs. Multiplayer

The thing is that the majority of the games made for Wii and Wii U are solo campaigns, or LOCAL multiplayer. If there were to be a Wii version of Spiral Knights, the ideal would be to have it as a 2-4 multiplayer game for local wiimotes, which would also mean a total redesign of the multiplayer settings and integrity. Therefore, expecting Spiral Knights for Wii/Wii U is like expecting money to be falling from the sky. It probably won't happen in this lifetime. There might be a way to initiate Spiral Knights to consoles but if it were to happen, it would begin with Playsation, since they release the majority of SEGA games first, especially since SEGA discontinued their Genesis console a while ago. Come to think of it, although made to be multiplayer, with a few adjustments and a little bit more "storyline" content, Spiral Knights wouldn't be a bad single player game. Anyways, the chances of SK appearing in stores for consoles, especially Wii, are almost null.

Bad idea

It should stay a PC game other wise Xbox and Wii will catch hold of everyone one making them buy a new version of the game for every new console ( that's y I now play PC more than consoles) .

Heh... Worst idea ever.

It's the worst idea ever made to transfer a MMO on a console. And on the WiiU? I dont think so..Blacklight:Retribution will be on PS4, and it's usually a MMO on PC, but it is a 8GB Game. Equivalent to another PS4 game. Anyways, it will be too laggy dude. I'm sorry to tell you that it will never happen. Have you seen how much MINOR suggestions have been posted and supported by over, what, 100+ players on SK's forums? And nothing happened? If you think that it will be on WiiU, .... You are dreaming. I'm not sure if OOO is reading our suggestions anyways :I

could be done

Hey, the wii u is a good, powerful console, and i'm even posting from it. (yeah, i logged into steam) I could see some way they could do it, putting you in with a group when your adventuring, (maybe cutting down on the max players in plaza) and using the eshop to buy energy and crowns. The wii u is NOT a handheld only, It's just the controller that looks like one. Plus, dont you know, nintendo bought out some of the rights to sega, they partially own it. In my opinion, it would be possible.

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

nintendo partership with SEGA is over with sonic lost world or sonic boom. don't remember precisely.
and it's the same thing to every other console port: the minecraft problem. if OOO ported SK to a console, it would not be the main port of the game, and it would be let unupdated. also, it takes lots of effort to make something to another port, and OOO hasn't the time or the money to get that far.

So does the Wii-U support showing when posts on forums were made? Or...

Porting games isn't something done lightly. Its a lot of dull time and effort and work. Its selfish of me to be sure, but I'd rather OOO just expand the game's current state more than try to port it onto whatever console.
