Since new players often have trouble adventuring due to a limited energy tank, I think elevator costs should be reduced depending on tier to make it easier for them.

Ex: Tier 1 has a cost of 2 energy each elevator
Tier 2 has a cost of 5 energy
Tier 3 has a cost of 10 energy.

Just a little idea of mine.

Do the math, you want to do 5 T1 levels for the price of 1 T3 level or 2 T2 levels. The crowns-per-energy ratios arent right.

If you want cheaper levels, then you should also remove crowns and rewards accordingly.

Maybe with these numbers:

    Tier
  1. 5E
  2. 7E
  3. 10E

Or:

    Tier
  1. 5E
  2. 10E
  3. 12/15E

But with only 2E per floor in T1 is ridiculous.

If the energy reduce, you can farm easily, then everybody would be so rich that they can buy a hell lot of CE and finish the game easily because they can craft everything like in a day.

There would also have to be payout decreases

All (all) crown and material drop rates would be at least halved.

More game time, same reward.

Not convenient for casual gamers.

Bad.

You two are (awesome).

You're all saying that grinding is a feature and people should be constantly farming for the already expensive stuff. And on top of that you're saying that having quicker moni is a bad thing? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You gotta be kidding me.

Anyways OP, that idea sounds pretty alright, and I don't think farming snarby even with 2CE per level is very rentable. Well, it might be, but by the time they get 10K in crowns people will get so bored they will want to do something else. Still, 2CE is a bit too cheap, 5CE would be more acceptable for tier 1 and 7CE for tier 2. That would be cool if we could play a bit longer even with the energy limitation.

But seeing the income of tier 1 and 2 are so small, it would barely make a difference.

That's why making the costs of getting there lower could be a threat. You could run it over and over again, and potentially get more cr than a standard T3 run.

Except it takes a lot more time, if not too much of it for that

And people eventually get bored to grind. Believe me that farming snarby 33 times is far more boring than farming FSC just 2 times with a mist tank.

This makes no sense. You want to lower elevator cost but decease payout? It will end up with same thing. It wont matter that we pay less CE for elevator because still we will get less crowns so in order to gain more we will end up with paying same amount of CE for elevators as before.

Income in Tier 1 small? There was once a nice T1 gate, with arenas, and guess what, those arenas gave 1500cr, its not small.

Decreasing elevator cost with cutting payouts of levels will only make feeling of game being 'grindfest' even more, you will have to do even more runs than now to gain anything.

And so was op, he never said he wanted to decrease the income. Good heavens, no!

And I do agree, the grinding is bad already as it is, reducing the income would only make it worse.

And really? 1,5K? But it was full of arenas, right? Arenas are the ones that give the most dosh per level, so it doesn't count a lot if that was a rare case (unless you mean 1,5K per arena).

EDIT: It seems there are a plenty of people that think grinding is the only thing people do in the game. Why would anyone farm snarby a billion times if the FSC is FAR faster to get the moni, assuming those elevator prices were placed.

Lowering elevator prices is like making it a promotion forever...

Imagine when the promotion happens for half priced elevators

-1 energy for Tier 1
-2.5 energy for Tier 2
-5 energy for Tier 3.

Lowering the elevator prices and cut the rewards is also a bad idea. You would be doing the same mission over and over and it gets boring. Spiral Knights would become boring because you would have to do the same mission for the right amount of crowns and stuff.

I don't want to do the same mission, I am perfectly fine with what I have currently. 10 energy with good loot.

There are people who care about that economy.

Care about it not inflating horribly.

Inflation makes things more expensive because there is more money sitting around rather than being eaten up by NPCs.

Inflation means you have to play longer to get the same result.

Playing longer for the same result means wasting time for no benefit.

You are asking for more money when it would punish everyone, including yourself.

Stop being selfish.

And if you are worried so much about inflating, how about we suggest OOO to reduce the stupidly expensive crafting price? Because afterall, that's the main reason everyone grinds, right?

I think there was a suggestion in one of these other threads somewhere to provide additional mist tanks as rewards. That could help newer players to pull in some extra game time and loot without giving endgame players an excuse to go grind tier 1 endlessly.

I posted about this at one point. My suggestion was for T1 to have half priced elevators and 3/5 of their current crown payout. This would let T1 players effectively play twice as much and receive a bit more crowns for their troubles. It would also allow for T2/3 players to unlock T2 without playing at a loss. Nothing came of it.

Blame missions and players.

HoH in the middle of missions are worse than a princessblock.

KoA caused said inflation.

Players don't do T2 ARCADE due to HoH and mission Shortcuts.

Players are leaving becuase they can't be bothered to do anything other than grinding.

Players(ALL PLAYERS) are taking advantage of CR inflation.

good thinking, maybe not 2 though. How about 5 for tier 1, 5 for tier 2 unless boss mission then its 10, and 10 for tier 3 for every mission.
i think that is resinable.

5 energy with big loots, it's like there is a promotion. 10 energy for boss mission? No. I think all missions should be even. 10 energy for Tier 3? Are you saying that Vanaduke would cost 20 energy?! I got that idea because you wanted to double the energy rate for bosses.

You'd be surprised what lengths the majority of players would go through just for extra cr. Bushwhacking, party-jumping, alt-dragging, party-jumping a specific depth...

When the Knights went in the elevator, the cost was 5 energy!

I don't see a reason to start getting hostile. All I'm saying is that with reduced elevator costs, even with the potential bore of playing Snarby over and over and over again; if the cr gain is more than just FSCing with the same amount of energy, people will do it.

I don't see where you got me saying that 'people should do' something. I'm saying that's what they do already, and that's what they'll do; what it takes to get the most cr, no matter how tedious or boring or monotonous it is.

Well, I said they feel it, not that they actually do. Still true though. And it's sad that there's people these days see WORK the only thing to do in this game... Maybe it could be solved if stuff was easier to get/craft (not at the point of becoming the exact opposite of WORK though...).
