It may be a tad outdated due to the new danger mission, but oh well...
This is a suggestion for a boss stage filled with Devilites. Sadly, I have no names for it, please forgive me. But here are the concepts I came up with:
- 5 stages - the first four being poison, shock, freeze, and fire themed respectively. The last is a neutral theme and is also where the boss is fought.
- Several new monster types, such as:
- Devilite officers, badge-toting devilites that ride floating police cars. When they spot a knight they will try to ram them (and anything else between them and the knight!) with the car, dealing massive physical damage. If the car is sufficiently damaged by knights or manages to hit a wall, it will explode, and the freed devilite officer will turn into a neutral-themed overtimer and be inflicted with stun.
- Devilite police dogs - purple alpha wolvers whose normal damage output is replaced with shadow damage.
- The Devilite president, garbed in his badge and his red vest! In contrast to other, more intimidating bosses, he has no direct attacks, but can turn normal devilites into officers and/or overtimers. He is the boss of the last level, a devilite will be promoted to his rank if the remaining devilite pit bosses are not killed quickly enough, and to prevent him from being too easy...
- ...he is guarded by Devilite TANKS! Said tanks behave like slowed-down officers but can also shoot homing missiles which deal massive physical damage and can ignite all targets (hope you like moving missile puppies...). Up to four can be out at once, and the president will promote a devilite to this rank if the tank is destroyed and its occupant killed, so they could be dealt with by destroying the tanks but not the devilites inside.
- Traffic - the big concern of the non-boss stages. Traffic is governed by stop lights and only goes in certain lanes, always shaped in a t-like pattern. Knights will suffer VERY heavy damage and knockback if they get caught in oncoming traffic, so keeping an eye on the stoplights is highly advised (if they are red the traffic goes horizontally, and if green it goes vertically): crosswalks can also be temporarily activated by pressing switches, though knights must proceed quickly on them to avoid being killed by the traffic when the crosswalk fades.
- The devilite president, when he and his pit bosses are defeated, will drop V.E.D. (Very evil Devilite) tokens, which will have a similar usage to other boss tokens. The token description will be something like this:
- "A badge worn by high-ranking devilites. It's said that one look at them is enough to drive a fiend to madness, much more so a knight"
- Pitchforks can be bought with these tokens. Pitchforks deal split shadow-piercing damage and are similar to a slowed down flourish except for the charge attack, which throws a pitchfork that can inflict stun. Upgrades of the pitchfork can replace the stun with fire and replace the piercing with elemental damage.
That is all. Please critique this idea and tell me its advantages and flaws.
Congratulations on making an idea that has already been suggested before. Please search for the thing you are suggesting before you start making the post.
