So I was playing Spiral Knights today in an arcade when we got to one of the elevators and I said hold up I wanna wait until it changes to the arena, so while we were waiting there I was trying to make small talk with the guy (because there were only 2 of us) I was playing with to pass the time I asked him a question that he couldn't respond to because his English wasn't very good because he was french well I don't know French so I wasn't able to get an answer to my question.

I see this happen in Spiral Knights I meet a lot of Europeans that say I don't speak good English and it made me think wouldn't it be nice if Spiral Knights had a way to translate what you say in other languages that other people are familiar with. obviously it won't be perfect we wouldn't be able to use our txting lingo like CE, CR, LEVI, etc. But if it gave an indicator that they weren't from an English speaking country then it would (hopefully) encourage you to use proper English so it could translate it.

This was just my thought that it would be nice to be able to translate things from English to German, French, etc. and vice-versa.

Yeah, its time to put

Yeah, its time to put translator into a game while there are hundreds of free translators online, seems legit.

There is an option "party with any" this prevents people from other language settings (french, german, etc) from joining your parties.

Translator in game? This is last thing we need in SK

...the problem I see with this is that online translators have an unfortunate tendency to turn perfectly good sentences into complete garbage. Babelfish in particular is infamous for 'lost in translation' issues. Also, if someone makes a slight spelling error it won't be translated and the word won't make any sense.
It would be nice, yes. But actually having a good translator implemented would be quite difficult.

It's not hard, but plain impossible. There are lot of expressions that dont have a true literal translation or simply sound silly to other cultures.

But we already have some kind of universal basic translation: chat commands /hi, /thanks, /wait, etc.
Maybe we could expand those.

it's not as impossible as you think

admittedly yes there are a lot of words that don't have translations however most of those words are slang or jargon and I mean come on if Google can post a translator that allows me to decipher a lot of Japanese sentences and phrases so I can play an online game before it comes to the states (It was Phantasy Star Online 2 by the by) then Spiral Knights should be able to do a least something.
