Trying to determine if silent nightblade charge attack is bugged.

So far as I am aware, with my somewhat limited spiral knights experience, every attack on the silent nightblade, be it charged, explosion, or normal swing, should be doing shadow damage.

Additionally, I'm led to believe through experience and the wiki that shadow damage deals extra damage to slimes and lichens, as noted by the higher and more tan/orange/bronze numbers produced.

Normal swings are doing extra damage. The explosions *after* a charged attack are doing extra damage. The charged attack swing itself, however, is showing normal damage numbers on the same mobs. Is this normal and expected? Is it resultant of a recent patch?

It's doing the actual shadow damage, it's just that normal damage numbers are showing.
It's one of the oldest glitches in the game.
Don't worry about that, it's doing the actual damage.
Even if it was the 'big' numbers, it'd be doing the exact same number, so it doesn't matter.

What do you mean, what, it was a simple question, are you a Wolver clone?

It's not terribly simple.

It's not terribly simple. Like most natural language, it's full of ambiguity!

Of which wolver do we speak? Is it a person? Are you asking if I was cloned from code in the game? Yet another option I don't know of offhand?

If I knew the question being asked, I might know the answer. ;)

Are you using any combination of the armor that comes form the wolver?

That is to say, dusker, ashtail, skolver...

Oh, you guys. Don't be so

Oh, you guys. Don't be so mean.

Those numbers typically appear as normal damage when they hit too high. This typically happens because of sword attack damage increase from wolver pieces, barbarous thorn shield, or trinkets.

Im sure that Nightblade

Im sure that Nightblade charge is nothing near as bugged as Divine Avenger and Gran Faust charge:

- it explodes not damaging thing behind you when you are standing with your back next to a wall/obstacle/box, treasure box, enemy, bush, crystal, ghost block, explosive block

- it completely disappears in lockdown, no matter where you stand, you can be in locker room, in very open space, in a corridor, it just disappears

...the damage number colours are bugged, yes. This is a fairly common glitch with numerous weapons, I keep seeing it when I clear t1.
A Wolver clone is someone who focuses on swords and only uses Wolver-line armour, with a possible side of an Antigua or Pulsar-line gun. It is a generally derogatory term.
Gran Faust and Divine Avenger lines are also bugged, even more so. This is fairly old news... I'm still holding out for a bugfix for it at some point.

Ignore the colors, they don't

Ignore the colors, they don't really mean anything.

A simple test.

Do a charge attack with a Nightblade and record the numbers. Do the same with an elemental brandish and record the numbers. You'll get your answer.

There we go, enough words and

There we go, enough words and it makes sense.

I was not mapping "Are you a wolver clone" to "Are you wearing a set of wolver armor", silly me, thinking those were different sentences. ;)

Yes, very much so. Thanks for the information, especially Etendue for phrasing it in non-spiral-slang. :D
