So, i have a dragon scale shield, and it breaks like paper, or is that just me?
Dragon scale shield = paper?
And it is very good, i use it now on vana runs and i do not neglect it, its even better then CoA [FOR GUNNERS] because of those annoying lava spawns , or even lag spikes and u "teleport" into lava etc.
Mine also has a couple UV's on it with one "UV ticket.
Elemental Medium
Normal High (does not reach 2 bars)
Against anything in C42, it is invaluable. Especially in t3.
Against anything in normal Clockworks above t3, it breaks pretty easily, given its lack of normal protection.
It is a very situational shield, and not one I'd advise someone to get as their first choice.
Good thing i have a spare dark thorn shield that i need to level.

You're not making sense. CoA has Fire resistance, too. And it has nothing to do with your weapon-type.
Did you mean "BTS" instead of "CoA"?
Shadow fire is elemental, so it is better than CoA to a point (lava spawns). But an owlite would do better in general for whole FSC.
It is virtually unbreakable in C42, but anywhere else I'd rather use Iron Buckler.
It can tank a vana mace and live to tell the tale.

@ Derpules "You're not making sense. CoA has Fire resistance, too. And it has nothing to do with your weapon-type.

why would i use BTS as a gunner? :\
and yes i mean Crest of almire, a gunner can take WAY more advantage of the Dragon Scale shield then the CoA one.
and yes i know LOTS of people gonna say im full of cra*
CoA and Dragon Scale are equally good against fire. Srsly. No. Difference.
P.S. Of course you wouldn't be using BTS as a gunner. That's why it would have made perfect sense if you'd said "BTS" instead of "CoA".
Against fire meh.. it KINDA is.
but in elemental Damage get's ************* [i dont even know what that can mean random number of *]
that's ma point.
Gunners are supposed to be a "ranged" well "class" so we do not need that shadow protection
BECAUSE THERE ARE NO SHADOW TRAPS! and we usually need to avoid them more ofter then the other people, to more around and stuf.
Exactly the opposite of the swordsman did you get it now? :D :D :D
is the superiority of Ele defence over Shadow defence for gunners. In which case you should use Grey Owlite, not Dragon Scale. The only thing DS has that GO doesn't is Piercing defence. Why on earth do you need that? Do you like to walk into spikes a lot? Or have trouble fighting Oilers? Surely not.
Hmm i can see your point once more. I don't have a ULTIMATE internet connection like mostly of all the rest of the world. my download-speed doesn't go further then 500kb/s IF it can reach that! :D
so yes sometimes i get screwed on the spikes. and im not a fan of slimes even with a umbra driver they just manage to "teleport" (mostly the oilers)
but well u probably have a different playing style then me so i'm not going to argue with that sir.
And latest but not minor. Grey Owlite looks stupid. so i will not EVER use that ugly shield.
Literally the only thing the Dragon Scale is better at is tanking Oiler attacks and shielding while on spikes.
I think that if you consistently get hit by Oilers and spikes, that's not a "playing style", but rather either a lag issue (as in your case) or a skill issue. If you didn't lag, you would never need pierce defence on an FSC shield.
Re: visual preference, to each their own. In any case, it has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

Against which monsters? The shield has no normal protection. Even on Tier 3, there is still a lot of normal damage being dealt by monsters. This normal damage could break the shield very quickly.
The lack of normal damage is why people have always advised to stay away from Dragon Scale Shield. Nowadays, we have Compound 42, where it might be decent (I haven't tried it). Elsewhere, it is almost certainly not decent. Sorry.
