Anything? I've got a Mad Bomber Mask and Volcanic Demo Suit, as well as a Perfect Mask of Seerus and Sunset Duster. My only 5* shield is an Aegis, and my weapons include:

-Shiver
-VT
-DBB
-Nitro
-Dark Ret
-E Vortex
-Silversix
-Blackhawk
-Firo Driver
-Gigawatt Pulsar
-Strike Needle
-Avenger
-Rocket Hammer

Will any of these (assuming I upgrade any 4* stuff to 5*) be good choices for UFSC? Is bombing a bad idea? Can Darkfire Vanaduke be frozen? Will I need a different shield? Any advice would be good.

For what i seen in some videos Vanaduke can't be frozen on the shadow lair.
I can be wrong though :c
Divine avenger think it's like one of the weapons that is a MUST have it xD

Well, you could bomb during the run, then be blitzer in boss fight.

Darkfire Vana can not be frozen with shivermist. I'm unsure about other sources of freezing.

I would advice getting a Crest of Almire or even just a regular Blackened Crest of the CE investment is somehow too much.

Gear Recommendations
  • The best gear to use in there is Deadshot, maybe with a fire UV as well. Turn your duster into that, and you'll be better off.
  • Mad Bomber is suicide in there, so keep it at home. Maybe take along a piece of Volcanic Demo as well. The CTR is nice and it's not like the fire gets totally replaced by curse.
  • Consider getting a CoA, Aegis will be pretty much useless.
  • Darkfire Vana is immune to freeze, so do practice runs on normal vana without shiver to get accustomed.
  • Every run can benefit from a bomber, UFSC is no different. Bring an E. Vortex and you'll instantly be everyone's best friend.
  • DA is nice, IMO Voltedge is better, but you'll do just fine with DA.
  • Some people prefer Polaris on the turrets, I prefer AP as it's quicker and has a nice damage bonus, but it's up to you. Both have their merits.
  • Blitz is a must-have for obvious reasons.
  • You'll also need some trinkets for bonus offense. Health trinkets aren't necessary as you get +21 vitapods in there.

Should be about it.

Hmm, so Shiver doesn't work...

Any other Haze Bombs? Obviously Ash of Agni won't help, but will VT or Stagger work? Will they be worth it? (Stagger will have to be constantly re-applied, but if it works, it makes Vana turn slowly, which definitely helps.)

So far, I'm leaning toward:

-Blitz (Vana/Trojans/Deadnaughts)
-Shiver (Crowd Control vs. Enemies, especially Trojans and Deadnaughts)
-DBB (Area Damage) OR VT (Damage to big mobs/Crowd Control) OR Vortex (for combos with Brandish) OR Stagger Storm (if it works on Darkfire Vanaduke, it's great, from what I hear anyway)
-Argent Peacemaker (Single target damage and mobile Vana killing... and turrets) OR Warmaster Rocket Hammer/Divine Avenger (for single target damage and getting enemies off me... and turrets)
-Volcanic Demo Suit
-Mad Bomber Mask (unless I get a Volcanic Demo Helm) or Perfect Mask of Seerus (the choice is between Fire resistance/Gun effectiveness and expedient Bombing in the level itself)
-Crest of Almire (So I can survive those rooms full of Howlitzers without dying a horrible death)

EDIT: Ninja'd by the Platypus. Looking at your advice, I have to agree, Vortex is great. So I guess...

-Blitz
-Shiver
-Vortex
-AP
-Volc Demo Suit
-Seerus Mask
-CoA
-Elite Bomb Focus Mod
-Elite Gun Focus Mod (or Elite Quick Draw Mod)

should work?

One tip from me (not gear

One tip from me (not gear related) that helped a lot. If you have someone on your team who knows the turrets spawns, put the totems there and they won't be able to fire you.

Also, in the last room of ashen arsenal, as long as you stay on the party button, the turrets won't see you. Makes it 10 times easier.

I would switch Seerus with a

I would switch Seerus with a piece of Deadshot. You keep the ASI low, get a nice curse resist that (I think) lowers it to 1 weapon, and get a universal damage bonus against the most common family there by far. You aren't going to be the primary damage dealer with Blitz anyway to make the full use of the extra CTR, and AP charges are risky without precautions or setup (like vortex) first. Damage is better than ASI on guns too, so use a Trueshot as your gun trinket, giving you max on undead and a decent bonus on everything else.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

@Duke: ...if the curse strength in UFSC is the same as that self-inflicted by Gran Faust, then one bar of Max! isn't enough to stop two weapons from getting cursed. (It will keep two consumable slots free, though.)

basic idea

well i would just think of
deadshot with fire uv
CoA
AP
BN
and an elemental sword, i wonder if the curse zombies could be burnt by combuster, since they are not that fire themed slag walkers.
but no one surely have the guts to try it :P
