So, earlier today I accidentally bid on something that cost 8k crowns and I totally didn't want it, and I couldn't find anyway to cancel the bid or anything. I actually had to find someone that was willing to outbid me to solve the problem.

So, simple idea: A: you can cancel a bid, effectively giving you your money back and acting like it never happened, or B: a warning message appears before you bid, informing you that it will take your money immediately and you can't turn back. Of course, this warning would have a "Don't show me this again" message for those people that bid all the time.

This would just be a really nice feature for poor saps like me.

Accidentally bidding is

Accidentally bidding is entirely your fault and you have to take responsibility. You also put no thought at all into how an unbid feature would affect the AH. A warning before bidding is just an irritant and messes with bidding wars are snipe bidding. If everyone would instantly turn it off, why have it in the first place?

Don't want to bid? Don't click "Bid".

Totally abusable. Bid 5 times the value of the item, wait till it turns to very short, cancel bid, post reasonable bid, profit.

Alright, no cancel bid. But

Alright, no cancel bid.

But dude, if there was a warning message with a "Don't show this again" box, it would not interfere with bidding wars. If you wanted to be able to do bidding wars, you'd check that box, plain and simple. I've never intentionally bid on anything, I was trying to preview the item when I hit bid.

And not everyone will instantly turn it off. I wouldn't. I don't bid, I pretty much always do the buy it now feature if I want something, and I'm certain I'm not the only one.

Now, I doubt it'll happen again, but its just a suggestion, and I don't think the message would be much of a problem.

To the warning message. It could be a sort of confirm with that same "Don't show this again" box such as when you decide to change your personal color etc, could be helpful and there's not really any harm.
