If OOO isn't going to make steam conversions from kongregate possible mechanically, they should at least do manual ones

I've been seriously playing SK since what I believe was early November (I took my first steps soon after the kongregate release (9/22/11), but I left the game soon after starting because I found the slow pace of t1 boring). Soon after joining ITJ I was wishing I could convert to steam, for the social features. I also noticed that the updater was massively faster than the one on kongregate/the main site, and that same updater is still broken for me, yes I have reinstalled the game. I've reinstalled the steam version too. After OCH came out, I was angry. I was missing out on this new content while everyone else was playing it, all the while getting asked to join parties and having to explain why I wasn't able to get OCH. My friends and long-time SKers in guild kept assuring me that OOO was going to make it possible for me to get OCH. Did this happen? No. This was especially irritating for two other reasons: one, the game was originally advertized as "100% free to play". Two, Nick's original post on missions clearly stated that we would be able to get this for free. It was later changed. I was glad when OOO released the "milestone and a look forward" update, but they STILL haven't allowed me to get the DLC. Rather, I'm reading more posts about costumes I don't want and never foresee buying for any reason other than investment purposes. I know you guys lost Andrzej, but this cannot possibly be that hard. It's been half a year since OCH was launched, and almost four months since the "milestone and a look forward" post. This is taking FOREVER. I know that even getting it now, I'll be getting it at double the price everyone else paid, but I don't really care much. It's virtual money. I have plenty of virtual money.

I don't know a lot of other kongregate players, but there are probably other people in the same boat. It wouldn't be too hard to do conversions for however many long-time kongregate players there are. Pretty please?

OOO doesn't like to do much of anything manually, wether it be testing access activation (guardian pack/och/elevator pass) or UV transferal (crystal bomb update).

OCH was never advertised to

OCH was never advertised to be free. No clue where you got that info but surely not from any official posts on those forums.

Yeah, OCH was never

Yeah, OCH was never advertised as free.

It was just advertised as buyable with CE but got changed in last second by 'you know who' to available with purchase.

By "free" I mean that it was advertized to be buyable in-game without any real money spent.

Here is the post that was edited at the last minute: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/42211

And actually, OOO DID do some stuff manually when they introduced binding by giving people back the gear they had traded to other players in order to acquire more heat.

Also, OCH isn't the only reason I want this to happen. There's account security, steam social and the broken updater too.

Nick already said they are working on the system to trade it outside of steam trade. (altought we havent seen news ina while, as usual D:< )

And its a matter of security. Both Kongregate and Steam use an automated ID system to login rather than just the usual user & password, along other details...
It invovles something else than the game alone, unlike that unbinding problem.

You don't understand what "manual" means

It involves moving all the shizz from one acc to the other. If GMs can't do this easily they can use unbinding.

Okay. You want stuff done the medieval way...

But please tell me, how big (as in how many employees) do you think Three Rings is?

And then ask yourself, how many will want to convert to Steam?

I think there are a total of 15 GMs. I don't think there are more than a couple hundred long-time kongregate players, if that. The majority of whom would want to convert.
