Seriously, I don't know why it doesn't have a front slot, just curious, it's just a reskin Valk helm. Even the item's description says it's waiting to be accessorized! :O

There's still no good reason why it can't take front accs. Preview them on Spiralspy; they look just fine.
Same with the Crescent, I believe?

If you look at the textures of both helmets, they're layed out the same way. The image size are also the same, too!
OOO's clever in that they create one model, and make several different textures for it, thus creating several different helms. All the Chroma Masks, Scale Helms, and Dragon Scale Helms ALL share the same model. Emberbreak and Spiral Tail? Same model. Almirian Crusader and Platemail? Some attachments added, but still the same base model.
Again, I gotta give props to OOO for basically makin' recolors that aren't actually recolors of their models.

Eh, they share the same base model, but most are significant variations. Some helms have dire and proto models (and sometimes a really bare-bones version that never gets released as-is). Proto models are models used in proto gear, dub, while dire is usually more complicated or has more elements (the Proto helms are the Break helms, Flak Jacket is Wolver Coat, Draped is Scale Mail, etc.) It is quite cleverly done.
Except that it's not just a reskin, it's a new model based off the winged helm and will be a new proto helm in the near future. I don't know if the helm had a front slot on the test server, as I wasn't on for that weekend, but if it didn't, that would explain why the surge helm doesn't.
