totally different

Well, one is shadow and the other piercing, so they're not comparable. But they're both great weapons. We'd have to know more about your other weapons, and what kind of runs/missions you want to do. Meanwhile, consider my detailed sword guide.

The brandish is still normal. Upgrade it first so you have 2 special swords. You will see a more immediate damage increase.
Sooner or later you'll have to upgrade both.

CALLAHAN!!!!

Sice you are asking this, you are probably T2 and can do RJP. Go with the night ladle so you get shadow damage (great for slimes) and fame RJP until you get enough to upgrade the flourish for devilites which you will deal with later.

And so.. I upgraded my

And so.. I upgraded my Flourish into Swift Flourish, I guess I'll be focusing on Nightblade and armor now.
Yes, I am T2. But, I haven't been to RJP, yet. I was thinking of upgrading my armor/shield etc. first

Wolver Cap -> Dusker Cap
Wolver Coat -> Dusker Coat
Defender ( I don't know about it yet, I think I'll switch it with Boosted Plate Shield.)
Cutter - Not at the moment.
Brandish - Saving money for Nightblade.

[Thanks for the answers, tips, & stuff.]

mostly great

You should always think in terms of 5-star gear. You don't want to end up in a dumb alchemy path. If I understand correctly, you're going for:
* Skolver or Vog Cub armor
* Aegis, Ironmight Plate Shield, or Volcanic Plate Shield
* Acheron
* Final Flourish
This is all great, except that you should seriously consider Barbarous Thorn Shield instead. It gives a really valuable damage bonus to your swords. (All of this is discussed in my sword guide.)

Upgrade your Nightblade next.

The difference is astounding. The difference between 2 and 3* armour and shields, on the other hand, is not so marked.

And listen to Bopp re: shields. No reason for a sword-user to have any other piercing shield (except for fun, or as a second, specialised option).
