hello fellow forumers/knights! Now, before you skip this 'rant' and read the tips i would want to let you know that some tips won't work, its either its 'clashing' with your currents play styles or 'habits' you developed after (minutes/hours/)days/weeks/months of playing the game.

1. Use the enviroment to your advantage
No, spikes won't damage eneimies, but explosive blocks would. So it would be best to open monster cages before blowing up explosive blocks (if they are near each other), now beside explosive ones, regular block also can help you in combat. A good example is the top right room on the 2nd floor of RJP, you can break 1 block opening and let Lumbers stuck in it since they seem to be larger than 1 block, and take a few 'pot shots' at the menders behind and the lumbers and you have jellies and turrets which IMO are quite easy to get rid off when the menders and lumbers are out of the picture.

2.Sidearms are your new best friend.
your probabbly thinking "why should even i? my is the B3ZT,derp hurp L33T 4 D@Yz" but if you are using a sword, and your crowded, party members probably dead, the room is small, don't tell me your gonna spam charges to win? you : "ofcoz,i alwayz w1n lik3 th@t". Always? are you sure? Well fine be ignorant (unless you aren't then TY!) im gonna continue anyway. every one can a side arm, like say a non-bomber and have supportive bomb to support your main weapons, non-gunners can have guns to hit far switches or kite enemies into a 'clump' and serve EoA damage. non-swordies can use swords to clear out single enemies or to deal knock back when needed. and personally i would mostly suggest this to new-comers or people who are having problems with solo runs.

3. Don't hold out you'll get more later.
i usualy find this 'habit' on everyone, which where they 'store' pills and remedies for the boss or the 'last battle' thus causing to lose health and not gain any back (unless there is alot of hearts droped by enemies) and thus die, and 'leach/steal' 'better player's' health and then the whole team dies slowly, just use your pill when you roughly get to 3/5/7 pips of health (on per Teir 1/2/3 (you may not follow me but i Would suggest it)) be cause you could get it back later, btw isn't it better to use a pill than die off and waste engry? no?! forget it.......

4. Survive now; damage later.
its quite simple, do Not spam charges or what i like to call 'Going Rambo' when unneeded (yes, unneeded is a word), because 'Going Rambo' could cause your death and sadly enough stops your 'streak'. So, again, Survive now ; Damage later.

5. Sometimes, Running is better than sheilding
Yes it is, because, firstly, you walk slower when you sheild.secondly, it causes You to 'finch' every half second(?) when under damage (if its a conietues attack like say zombie status breath attacks) so if say a trojan is winding up his slam, run, don't tank it when you can't.

6. Statuses are your 2nd new friend.
different statuses work better on diffrent enemies. Stun works good on beasts (mostly wolvers), fire works better on undead & slimes(besides oilers), freeze can extingush oilers AND! lock pesky devilites in place (IMO mixing shiver mist buster and stagger storm can imobilize any enemy even knights on LD! (not tested but asumed)), shock works good for anything that isvuranable to elemental attacks, curse for anything that attacks frequently (turrets and lichen(the big ones)), poison for anywhere that has ALOTof menders or healing abilities.

Again, like above, if the said tips are not usefull it not my problem, well 1st, your not used to this 'tips'. 2ndly these are my Opinion on how to survive the game better. If its does work, im glad i'd help and your welcome :3.

Good post! But needs some additional infos:

7-Revive your teammates firstly, trying to be hero only causes others to annoy.
8-Charge attack if there is a huge troop of enemies.
9-Dont beware using Remedies, Pills if you need.

And you are wrong there:
"Stun works good on beasts (mostly wolvers)"
Stun is bugged, thus it causes mobs to instant hit when stunned. So my advice: do not use stun in PvE, it is very dangerous.

some counterpoints

I agree with most of your advice. However:

3. While you don't want to waste energy, you also don't want to waste pills. Whether to save pills or use them now is a calculated risk. Yes, you will get pills later, but you may also get hearts in five seconds, rendering your pill use wasted.

4. Often, kiting and spamming charges is the most effective way of safely killing off enemies. It's my default mode when finishing an arena, for example. I don't know why you consider survival and spamming charges to be mutually exclusive (see also #2).

Have to disagree with the

Have to disagree with the pill one entirely. Don't use pills so wastefully; it is in fact better to store them up. If you get more pills and everyone happens to have 3 pills spare, you can carry them to the next area or use/pickup. It's always better to have pills saved up for an emergency/boss/hard room than it is to just use them because you're low on hps, especially when (as Bopp says) you might just pick up hearts in two seconds.

That, and the "last heart" rule renders keeping full hp as a redundant and wasteful strategy. As long as you have more than 2 pips of hps you can never be onehit, and will have spare hearts/pills aside for dire circumstances or in case you get hit with a status such as shock or fire.
Your strategy would suggest using a pill straight away; then you may get hit, lose all your hps and be shocked; two seconds later you take status damage and have no pills left, so die.
Utilising the last heart rule, you have low hps, get hit and survive at 1 pip, get hit with shock then can throw up your pill to negate the status damage and survive.

Not trying to argue here, as I agree that there are people who do store up pills pointlessly (i.e, when they're the only person left alive at 1 pip and refuse to use them, or are already in Vanas room, etc), but the last heart rule is a major point to consider for regular CW travel, and is something that a lot of new players aren't aware of.

When you get hemmed into

When you get hemmed into close quarters or have a thick mob to pass thru, or even trapped in a corner say like FSC within attack range of several zombies and are waiting for spikes or fire to clear or are even waiting for a weapon charge (or shield is broken) learn to spam WASD while keeping some sense of direction during the jerky movement. This bamboozles most monsters attack AI as it seems they like you in one place or going in a decicive direction for a small fraction of time before they attack.

Like if you are shooting a jelly with sentenza it doesnt matter how close the cube is as long as you are tapping away from it in a spammy fashon it will ALWAYS attack where you "just were" even if youre only a few millimeters further away. This prevents zombies from swipeing or lunging too, they just sit there looking at you not knowing quite what the hell youre up to.

In fact this works so well it *almost* feels like an exploit.

I have one info you should add

When in a spikey situation with big mobs, time it right.

For RJP, you may be in a room full of spikes. Don't worry, You must time it right. Otherwise, you will be trapped. Find an open spot. Or if you are in a gremlin construction site, go around in circles and make 1 or 2 gremlins go to a different spot where gremlins cannot find you. Attack them and send all of them to a lonely spot.

Hm.

Who said Stun was bad? I mean, it isn't the best status, granted, but still kinda awesome.

I mean, it's a glass vial that knocks the monsters back by MILES.

Coupla tips:
Charges, if you learn to use them responsibly (that is, unlike me, derp) can be your very best friend. Some are just wierd (ie. the Cutter charge) but they do have their uses (with practice, you can hold mobs back).

Sometimes, the most obvious answer is not the best. If you are in a T3 room with spikes up and gun puppies all around, then run over the spikes. Run away from some enemies, so you can thin out the mob - I mean, turrets can't move, right? How about trees? If you get knocked onto a spike plate, it's often better to drop your shield and run over them than to keep it up, have it break and still take damage yourself.

Remember: All monster show signs of attacking beforehand!

Timing is key. Timing will let you do all kinds of things and survive, like taking on trojans solo, or bombing, or even getting two Alpha Wolvers to attack past each other so you can hit them both with one swing. Timing lets you solo the GWW without a shield, and without taking damage. Timing lets you kill things without getting killed.
