After the Great CE Debacle we the players of Spiral Knights experienced today which only few profiteered from but affected all of us, several stoic players who are legends amongst Spiral Gamers feel that if the actions which transpired today go without redress, reconciliation, or retribution, that they have lost all hope in this game and will leave the Spiral Theatre all-together. I'm not going to drop any names without prior consent but I dearly don't want to see anyone quit over one person's practical joke, and I'm sure many of you don't either. If you want OOO to know the gravity of the situation please leave your name here. Leave your name if you can't take much more of this mismanaged game economy which clearly needs to be re-examined and fixed as currently it's neigh impossible to do anything without dropping dollar. And for those of us who did drop that guap, we need to be reassured that we're making worthwhile investments in a game which continues to vigilantly protect its consumers.

We all have to quit sometime, but not over this.

I mentioned this before, but I am going to repeat it: I used to play NexonNA games. Namely Maplestory, Mabinogi, then Vindictus in that order. This was several years ago, but still relevant. All those games experienced a form of gold/money duplication. When it happened, especially in Mabinogi where it happened multiple times, the NexonNA team rolled back within hours of discovering a duplication creates an immense about of money, thus destroying all the false money. They may not have caught every single fake coin, or banned every single duplicator (though the ones I knew who duplicated almost always ended up quitting for lack of interest), but the gaming company I consider the absolute worst at least did their best to care about their hosted games.

Does that make Three Rings worse than NexonNA? Is that what they want? They seem to be making similar decisions, ignoring their playerbase and only caring for their own profits. I have kept my wallet closed for several months now and I have no intent to open it anytime in the future if this is how they plan to treat us. I still do occasional runs, craft some small stuff, but even if another expansion comes out I will cross my arms and turn away. This is not goodbye, but next time they open their apple stand with their decayed blobs of fruit flesh I will shop elsewhere.

Oh my... were really complaining that OOO is bad because they're not stepping in to the FREE MARKET ECONOMY that they INTENTIONALLY set up.

There's a REASON CE price skyrockets, and its because of both the players and OOO fault. You can't blame OOO alone for raising the price of CE by adding missions, because its everyone's fault for abusing the system to maximize profit (and then complaining about it). Neither side is really guilty, they just make really stupid mistakes.

Hate the economy? Well find a new game.

And no... LEGENDARY players are quitting because ofthe economy? Well if they're legenday they would be smart enough to know how to manipulate the market to profit better than everyone else now wouldn't they? I'm pretty sure the people quitting have better reasons than that, such as life issues, or general boredom of the game. And as the old saying goes, "They always come back."

AS a year long player, I've taken my share of long breaks, but I check back from time to time if merely to talk with my guild.

I do have to agree that the game has shifted closer towards knowing economics to do well, but there's no need to roll back the game. If anything that takes away a lot of the content that we all crave.

While a lot of us will say that we miss the old way the arcade worked, and we wish that that aspect of the game still remained dominant, it will only become dominant again if we make it to be.

But I just cant say that this is a good idea. It had potential, but using the CE market as your point to say that was what is ruining the game...

I respect your opinion which is totally valid, but on point these are players who are ahead and don't need anymore cr, these are players with ridiculous triple maxes on everything. However if an update skews the economy in one direction, wouldn't it be good to have some sort of countermeasure to buffer that? Maybe not by directly regulating ce prices, but some other development that would naturally cause the economy to swing back for the good of the game.

lol. you "free economists" arguers haven't the first clue of what you are looking at when you view this game through those eyes. But whatever, you don't understand economics half so well as you think you do, and because you don't understand economics, you'll never comprehend why you are so wrong. But let us not derail this thread with an economics debate. If any want to engage in that argument, start a separate thread. (hypocrisy aside :)

...I'd rage at the fact that there was a nice 1k CE sitting in my account, but I really can't be bothered to do so.
I take it that happened as the result of hacking rather than legit crowns in the system, given the admin response in the thread.

But seriously in all honesty do you think that its okay just because its over with?
TBO its not over with people still have all that amazing amount of money at thier disposal. yes granted some will rage uv's or some lockboxes but what about the smart ones? they will let it sit and wait and there you go they just basically made like hundreds of dollars in real money thanks to a hack. think about it people can use this hacked money to buy another game from someone via CE when the market is down...

I dont see why they wouldnt Rollback if they dont theres gonna be alot of hate towards OOO, and thats not what theyre going to want.

I feel like you're blowing it a little out of proportion, since it took quite a bit more for you to actually profit from the events today in the manner that people are referring to, if only because both sides spiked in prices for a time. Turning a profit off of 100 CE to the same degree would've required some pretty intrinsic bid sniping on the CE market, and while it's possible to do, it's just as improbable because when most of us see a good deal, all we think about is mashing the "Sell CE" button in this case.

In fact, I'd be willing to bet the profit that I made off of today on that theory.

My wallet has not been open for a few months. I don't like the promotions they are giving. Bad ones where not many of us can spend money on or take participation on. It's expensive.

Also, if OOO only cares about there updates, I will quit. In fact, lots of them will. OOO has to stop being greedy

I'm sorry, but I don't think your sense is very common. Are seriously advocating erasing absolutely everyone's progress for a full week because of something that would have little to no effect in the long run?
MMOs are a game, sure, but people get really into them. Do you have any idea of just how much 7 days of effort in anything is worth?

I am one who thinks that games are games, and not work. If you do enjoy the game, you will not mind that much. Especially newbies because they get to see all the first bosses again. They will have time to bore themselves to death with Vanaduke eventually.

Nothing turns me off from something like having to redo 'progress'.
Especially if it was what I considered hard work. (like completing beating a tough boss, which newer player can attest to).

I may think people should enjoy the game above all else, but I won't ignore that progress and goal-completion is one way to enjoy the game.

a few of these lucky ones are probally smart enough have already wasted it in stuff like bids, costumes, weapons, CE, etc.
you cant just take tht back. Ppl on both side lose now.
anyway, who ever that dude was, i congratulate him/her, it was like a cold splash of water in the face.
oh yea, OOO should have more drills regarding this. there reaction was way tooooo late. but then again, this was probally their first and werent expecting such a thing.
EDIT: just saw Gremlin Profile Pic's post...yeaaa its way too late. if this was an earthquake, we all could have died OOO! :3

It's not RIP SK. The involved crowns were probably eliminated unless they were laundered well (if I were laundering I'd buy and sell stuff from vendors, then trade it to a different acc). However, anything that was easily accessible with crowns has lost value, most importantly UVs. I only have two good UVs:a freeze high on a skolver (obtained during level-up crafting when I started the game), and fire med on a dusker, so I don't have much to complain about - but anyone with fully decked out LD equipment has been cheated by the hacker/participants and to a lesser extent OOO.

I read about hard work, and I agree what people said about it. But, OOO should pay more atention to the forums and to what players say about the game.

You want to know why LOL is the most online game played? Because the developers listen to the comunity... When they release a champ if the comunity says that its OP or it needs a buff, the devs work on it. If they add a feature that the majority of the comunity doesn't like they try to change it or then remove it. The comunity feels like the game is not from Riot, but their own.
And when Riot screws up, they appologize!
I haven't seen anything like that here...

Anyone complainin about lag, the options are:
A: Your PC must suck.
B: Your connection must suck.
C: Your game is not properly configured.
D: Your connection must suck.

As you can see, it's always the clients fault; the game has no flaws. But this is the forum where i've seen the most "OMG LAG" "SO MUCH LAG" LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG" posts...
You forget the more important thing... The game is built on Java, which lags even by the name.
Some might say: "Java is very hard to code", and its true. But you choose a programing language due to its dificulty or its capabilities? There are some other languages that are more usefull for games, Java isn't in the top of them.
Seems to me that the purpose here is to show that a game can be coded in Java... Can be coded, but not enjoyable while you play it.

I've said it, some players said it too a milion times... The game has much more horsepower to run, OOO is wasting oportunities. Instead of atracting new players to this, they are just scaring them off with new and new bad things to them...
