Why can't we have houses?
Well it's beacuse houses are completely useless and it's the same as guild halls. For those who are suggesting it need to play the game more often and join a guild. You will see that it will be the same as guild halls. Houses are useless, like what I said.
What if we want to put furniture?
Guild hall updates. It will feature a new area for your own guild, and add furniture to the guild hall. Also expanded areas will allow more space for more furniture.
But where the hell will we sleep in?
We would sleep on the cold ground, and weather doesn't occur in Haven. Besides, we sleep by standing up closing our eyes.

What if houses were tied to guild halls, and used the same system? As long as houses were tied in (and not, as you say, 'the same as guild halls'), I wouldn't mind them at all. Per say I did not enjoy my guild hall's design, but still wanted to stay in the guild that I'm in because that's where all of my friends are. I'd be forced to either abandon an aspect of a game, or ditch my friends, and we can all agree that that isn't a nice decision to make. There is the fact that it might draw away from a collaborate effort to build guild halls, but I think that peer pressure and extra functionality put into guild halls will prevent this to a large extent.
"completely useless" and "its the same as guild halls" is kind of a contradiction; we're getting guild halls which have some functionality to them that is designed for guilds; why shouldn't guildless players get to try out some of these functions, and why do they exist if they are "pointless" for guilds? Even if some functions; E.G. A guild bank wouldn't work for them, they should still be able to build an epeen for themselves out of crowns that they can show off to impress the other knights.
