for weavers, i tend to use DA (elemental sword) and BTB (piercing sword) - is the knockback for DA better than BTB ? other than weapons, i guess the other thing to watch for is timing. just after they have squeezed the life out of u, is probably the best time to counter-attack, and slice them up.

for devilites, i initially tried to use argent, then realize magnus does significantly more dmg. in a grp, i would have used blitz. but as a solo player, i find it dangerous to use blitz with tier 3 devilites. so it seems my strategy would be BTB and magnus (until it becomes callahan).

hope to hear the different strategy that folks use ...

Everyone probably uses the same strat for their weaps

Greavers:
I shield and let them come to me, and then I quickly attack with my FF and shield cancel, keeping my shield up. Rinse and repeat.

Devilites:
I just clean them up with my DBB. :) Doesn't matter if they start dancing, they still get hit. You just need to know how to dodge them.

When I was having trouble

When I was having trouble with Greavers some time ago, I asked a similar question (of course, this was before missions):

A lot of good discussion on Greavers in there, much of it should apply to your mission.

For swords, I've found Suda/DA to be the best, as you can hit multiple, almost guaranteed to hit/reach them from a distance/angle and has a huge KB.
For bombs, definitely DBB; just need to plant them before they start to chase you
For guns, blitz is the way to go. So long as you can charge before they reach you, they'll drop before they hit you.

agree

Like others here, I use the first swing of a piercing sword, and then shield cancel.

Against greavers, the swing knocks them back and interrupts them. A second later, when they come at me again, I repeat. In Heart of Ice, for example, you can fend off 2-3 greavers without taking any damage or status. You don't even have to maneuver, but it's helpful if all of the greavers are coming at you from the same direction. So, when you enter a room and greavers pop up, try to retreat to the hallway, and let them attack you there.

Against devilites, the same idea applies, but you have to dodge much more, to avoid their ranged attack.

Does that apply to the WRH?

the same tactics?

You're asking whether you can use the same tactics with the WRH? I guess you can, but not as well. Its first stroke is slower (probably) and does less damage against fiends.

WRH

About as quick as the Sealed (add any ASI and it becomes a painful tool in your arsenal). With greavers, the first swing's the kicker, but you can add the dash to get up close and personal with the dang things. (Which I love to do)

Devilites:
Dash, dash, dash, get up on them and give them a swift end. I normally wind up doing Swing+Dash+shield, occasional variances are in play.

i died again ! but im starting to realize something...

i think im shielding way too much. so much that my shield always break from the damage.
i probably need to learn to dodge more, and rely less on shield.
amazing, this is probably the most recent thing i learnt.

That means one of two

That means one of two things:

a/ you're shielding just too much
b/ you're using an understarred or theme-inappropriate shield

Dodging instead of shielding is something vital to learn, as it lets your shield regen, but it is hard against Greavers since they move so fast. Altough you shouldn't need to hold your shield up for very long against them. Quick shield-bumps should be enough to push them back and save the damage, or (as others have said) shield-cancelling attacks.

Unless ofc, you get swarmed from six sides by Greavers, then it's understandable to hold it up, till someone comes to save you~

I use a magma driver for devilites and a piercing sword for grievers.

Why a magma driver? Because I can fire while moving and light them on fire for damage while they dodge. It also lets me snipe other things, by shooting directly at them (devilites dodge; bullet hits turrets/healers) rather than timing the devilites to get hits on those. I also use RSS and piercing swords for devilites as well on occasion, I like to mix it up. Rarely, and in T2, I will use callahan- I don't like it because it leaves me open for too long with very little reward (about the same as magma, maybe a little bit more).

Tried usin' SSS on devils

Tried usin' SSS on devils when I got back, but the stun is a total life-ruiner. Devils are hard enough to dodge as it is w/o getting to skip their animation QQ

@Darkbrady - actually im

@Darkbrady - actually im alternating between BTS and Owlite (both 5*) - so really, its not the shield's fault. anyway, i cleared the stage, but only cos it was with 3 other players on board. ill probably still find it a struggle to clear Silent Legion solo. i may come back eventually and try to clear it solo in future. like some points out, knights cant really outrun greavers, but i think they can out-maneuver devilites, to some extent. so will try to dodge more, rather than over-shield. :)

@Fehzor - magma driver on devilites ? um, need to try that out. for tier 2 devilites, i just pierce bomb my way through, but i find it a little more dangerous doing that in tier 3, cos i tend to get hit while charging, when in tier 3.
