Where can you buy Shadow Keys with crowns besides the Auction House?

Either buy them off AH, or ask if anyone in /2 Trade is selling Shadow Keys. Otherwise, you're going to have to convert into CE.
(Or use a Silver Key on an Iron Lockbox and keep your fingers crossed... you'd probably get a cool barrel belly instead, though, so I wouldn't recommend it.)

On Spiral knights, I just saw somebody open a dark festival prize box or whatever it's called. Lots of people got confetti, but I saw somebody get the shadow key!

Crowns or energy, it's the same anyways.
If eneryg prices rise, whoever sells it for crowns will also have to adjust his offer. You pay the same amount, in a different currency.
You can't. Buy CE with your crowns and then buy your key from the supply depot.
