I've made this suggestion before and i still believe it needs to be changed. It might not be a big problem but it's still a problem. I don't want to pick up a key when it happens to be right by the enemy that I'm attacking, I don't want to pick up a snowball when i get shoved against the wall in Frostbite. It's something I'm not fine with. Even if nothing bad happens it's something that should not be happening, happening. If people want to keep attack and interact with the same key let them be able to set it up that way but i don't want them to be the same key.
Brining a snowball to a sword fight
This isn't a personal problem. It happens all the time when you fight near the right areas. An actual "interact" key could be very useful when fighting near keys, statues, people you can talk to, etc.
Because neither me nor anyone I know ever complained about it/had similar problems.
Alright then: How about making key seperation an option? Basically attack-button here, action and pickup button there. The attack button right now already is referred as action button, anyway.
I'd make having them both on one button the default option though, simply because I find it handy to squeeze two functions into one button if they don't stand in each others way.
I don't care what the default is I just want to be able to not pick up a key in the middle of battle.
I have the opposite problem. It can take me 30 seconds sometimes to pick up the damn keys.
@Thenewteddy This would also fix that i think, if the problem is not lag.
I never, ever, have any problems picking up the right thing or attacking without picking up a snowball.
Personal problem or not, I would never give up the convenience of having attack and action on the same button, because it helps me much more often than it does hinder me at doing something.
And in case stuff like that comes:
"i just want another button for snowballs and similar things only"
Then i'll say
"No special treatment for different pickable items. Picking up everything with one button seems more intuitive"
