Essentially, I'm just asking what your favourite status to afflict is; why, and how do you prefer to cause the affliction?

As a haze support in LD, I've spent a lot of time pondering which my favourite statusses are, why I think they work and what are the best ways for me to deploy them effectively. With hazes, you get the luxury to inflict the status without fail, but swords and guns arenae that lucky; but even still, you must still prefer a status to cause, given the chance?

Lately, I've taken a liking to the Compound 42 mixture, and have been focussing on poison and fire at any given CP. The fire is the highest dot effect and can catch most people by surprise (who just run through not caring, not realising how much damage they'll take) and is something that only few have immunity or high resistance for it. With poison, it's something that virtually no one has resistance/immunity to, so you know it'll last long; it's also something that people greatly underestimate and just run straight through w/o thinking and allow themselves to be poisoned easily (whereas VT, people avoid that like the plague; it works nicely for area denial, but is harder to actually cause shock with becasue of that).

Even in the CW, I carry VV with me everywhere and make sure that anything with a face is poisoned; especially when silkies and menders are floating around, just to get that reverse-heal on the go. And with that, even with my weapons I love those two; Volc.Pepperbox causes fire on virtually ever shot, Toxic Needle similarly does the job; DVS and FoV are my preferred status-causing swords. It's a good mix; I always feel much safer when the person who's trying to kill me is half damage, half defenced and currently on fire.

Regardless, would definitely have to say that poison is my favourite status. Anti-healing in the CW and heartpad trolling in LD; in both areas it cripples everyone around; great support device that works nicely into both offensive and defensive strategies!

So what about you? Which do you like causing to people? :)

tsk tsk tsk

Appearantly everything went opposite for some of me, I put Oilers alight with fire from my Combuster's charges and I just can't help it.

Twofer!

If someone asked me straight up I would say fire. but even so I like stun the most. It's just the most satisfying, one second it's moving around fine then you deploy the attack and everything goes into slow motion! It's a shame that there are no good weapons that deal stun at the moment...

Did someone say STUN!?

Yes, Stun.
Stun vials.
STUN VIALS FTW!

If Stun Vials existed in LD, then I'd be playing LD right now. Just because I love the massive amount of KB (I mean, you throw a glass vial at something and it goes FLYING. Awesome), and because I'd like to send a certain few Clones to a humiliating demise in a fire trap which they cannot escape due to Stun's awesome slomo effects. Also, it'd be funny to Stun a clone, then hit him with a Magnus charge-attack.

If I could put Ultra Stun Vials in the Usables section of my arsenal, I'd be sending them to an alt in the Rescue Camp to throw in the general direction of a certain Gremlin...

Processing Thoughts of You Always

error: stasus undefined

I enjoy the effects of Shock, mainly because my VT makes quick work of slag clusters in FSC, not to mention it clears non-resistant arenas so fast you would not believe. Doubly so if they're construct or undead. Next to that would probably be Poison and Curse, if only because it's amusing to watch enemies kill themselves by accident.

You forgot stagger storm. Largely neglected because of stun bug so it's understandable when people forget it exists. Regardless, still does the job perfectly and works like a charm in both CW and PvP; great for slowing down anything that might move towards your face.

agree with Darkbrady about Stagger Storm

Stagger Storm's effects are really impressive. After seeing it in action several months ago, I think I prefer stun to shock, freeze, or fire. The monsters are totally predictable and completely vulnerable. I haven't seen it used since the stun bug was partially fixed; it's probably better now than ever.

@Bopp:
- The partial stun fix completely flew under the radar for me. I'll play with it again some time lol. I played some Stagger Stun Vana runs with Tsubasa and IMO it's fun. Since then, I've brought stun vials when doing vana runs in the case of no-shiver :V

Aye, they made a very small

Aye, they made a very small deal about it when they announced the fix. Was just lumped in a one-liner at the bottom of a patch note. Personally I was expecting them to make a promo and throw an event over it when stun bug finally got fixed, but hey...

Aye, stun has absolutely blown the face off of the CW since the fix. It was useful but risky before, but now it's just plum badass, both for Suda and Stagger. Good thing about takin' Stagger into Vana is that it seems to have a habit of interrupting his spawn animations!

Stun has been awesome since the fix. It's made me actually like sun shards again, for one thing.

Unsolicited stun commentary~

I've always liked using stun on certain enemies even before the fixes, and I still like it for its simultaneous crowd control and enemy position manipulation purposes (since freeze excels at the former, but can cause problems for the latter). However, stunned Mecha Knights, Almirian Crusaders and, to a lesser extent, Kats all found themselves completely unable to attack in one situation or another before the fix; I've noticed that is no longer the case. Possibly an additional fix to make stun less overpowering against those enemies, possibly an inadvertent fix that came along with preventing the problems with which the status has been plagued. I do appreciate the changes, but I also miss rendering certain enemies unable to defend themselves against a persistent Stagger cloud. c:
