@Duke
I'm currently looking for a suitable magic hood for that... I'm hoping to get something with 3 uvs on it. 3 useful UVs on it; not neccessarily tripple maxes, but perhaps some lows or otherwise in the important stats- namely poison, ice and elemental/normal. That way it would provide an alternative to seerus's mask on those levels. And would get a boost to elemental/normal.

@Luguiru

I never made mad bomber because most bombs don't benefit from damage... I never made volcanic demo suit because most of my bombs have ctr low uvs so that I can be a hybrid with them. Volcanic Demo Helm was good enough.

I'm making the bombastic since I already have a decent setup for CTR, and since I need more ice-resistant armors... and because there are some bombs that benefit from it.

I've always just used swiftstrike or barb when primarily gunning/swording, and then ancient while bombing. And CoA for devilites/fiends/undead on occasion. But then I ran out of weapons to craft, and started making random armors, helms and shields. So now I've got royal jelly shield, volcanic plate shield (because I loved ancient...) and then heater. Why would I choose heater over owlite? Well for one, people got angry at me for asking about it. They were all "This is Fehzor! Fehzor knows everything!" And I was like "But I have no elemental shield and am too lazy to use the crappy search function!" and then I think I graveyarded it. And then I used my deductive reasoning skills- Why do people use owlite? So as to take hits in FSC during vanaduke... but I just made a volcanic plate shield, and don't really need fire defenseses! I know, I will be a spiral hipster and make a heater shield, so that I can use it for gun puppy bullets and for icy constructs, should I encounter such a thing. That and it was my observation that there was absolutely no difference between royal jelly shield and barbarous shield, except that one gave my sword immensely powerful while the other looked nicer and actually fit in with most of the original art for the game. Needless to say, I use the jelly shield far more often.

I've always found skolver and vog to be kind of meh armors. They give such a low boost compared to swiftstrike buckler and chaos cloak and seerus's mask and deadshot.

Like, look at deadshot-

If most enemies are undead:
+4 to damage (guns+swords)
+1 ASI (guns)

And even more if I bring a damage bomb. Chaos is even more awesome, as CTR boosts are more valuable than ASI/Damage ones, and swiftstrike is borderline OP. And of course, if the situation allows for it, mercurial mail+mercurial helm+swiftstrike buckler can be amazing for taking things out.

Deadly Virulisk. Looks rad,

Deadly Virulisk. Looks rad, owns RJP/C42 (in lieu of fire defensive armours) and you already justified why you like family based armours like Deadshot.

Get the glowy green stabbing haaaaaands~

If you're looking for UVs on

If you're looking for UVs on it, fire and shock are by and large the most useful. I got fire med on both pieces and it's very nice.

@Dark Brady/Duke

On virulisk I was going to be getting a poison anything on the helmet, and a piercing/normal UV on the body. This will allow me to innerchange it with my future dragon scale helm to get med on beast+slime and elemental defense while retaining immunity to poison whips/gels.

And I've always wanted chroma armor... but like most things, it comes down more to finding acceptable UVs on AH. If only people would stop crafting ALL WOLVER.

maybe you should try a different play style

Apparently you have all of the weapons, but you've never seriously tried an all-sword or an all-bomb play style? (I say this only because you don't appreciate Mad Bomber and Vog/Skolver. Your valuation of armor presumes a hybrid weapon loadout.) So try playing with these:
* 3 swords, BTS, Skolver, Skolver, ASI or CTR trinkets
* 3 or 4 bombs including damage bombs, defensive shield, armor and trinkets to max out bomb CTR and damage (it's not hard)

Pssht, stop worryin' so much

Pssht, stop worryin' so much about UVs. I made my Viru before Punch came to Haven and I still rock that bad boy and nobody ragecrafted chroma sets back then!

....or now either I suppose, but that's neither here nor there...

@Bopp

I do use all bombs/swords/guns at times. I just feel so incredibly limited when I do, and boosting any one weapon type seems seriously pointless to me. And I'm going to make/get trinkets last, as that makes the most economic sense to me. I've got mask of seerus and now the damage bonus to guns hat as well as one piece of vog... so I can specialize better if I choose to. And I do specialize- I usually change my loadout entirely after every level so that I don't get too used to using any one load out. This is why I dislike doing FSC and other places where there is any one solution to them. Except for the toxic lichen+poisonous zombie levels. Those make me feel like I'm prepared, just because I've got radiant silvermail.

And it would be somewhat wasteful to go for all damage to swords- I've got several damage vs x UVs that I enjoy using, if only for the novelty of getting a damage vs x bonus.

goal: become comfortable with all playing styles

Fehzor, your reply is reasonable. But if you feel limited when playing with all swords (or all guns, or all bombs), then that suggests to me that you haven't spent enough time working on that play style. Each play style presents its own problems. Overcoming them is interesting, and keeps the game fun. That's what you're looking for, right? That's why I suggested it. (I'm not maligning your skill or experience here. But I feel comfortable with all swords, and I'm frankly not very good at video games.)

Trinkets don't make much economic sense to you? But crafting armor such as Vitasuit Deluxe and Azure Guardian does make sense to you? I don't understand why you'd consider those armors before trinkets, even if you're a hybrid player. You obviously have the resources to maintain trinket slots.

I don't have any monster-specific damage UVs on my weapons (except maybe for temporary ones, to be abandoned on a future visit to Punch). But you might be in a different class of collector than I am. A super-collector might choose to optimize for particular monster families (and mixtures of monster families). I could see such a collector choosing Deadly Virulisk, for example.
